maybe the editor/writer was dyslexic and confused “small landlord” with “slum landlord”
A small landlord is a person who rents out their basement apartment in their house. A person who owns a building is just a landlord-landlord.
"They bought or inherited aging apartment buildings, hoping to bring home a little extra cash"

... bought, or inherited, whole ass apartment buildings

How much would a Writer earn for selling a lot of autobiography books, book series, and a completed indie book? Worth thousands of dollars in a year, maybe?

2 ) nah... He had a few crushes when he was young... (And maybe some curre- "STFU writer") But he's never really understood the concept of soulmates.

“Democracy Dies in Darkness” so goes the tag line at the Washington Post. Maybe the writer of that line had a premonition about the future. It's very dark at the WP right now. More than 300 journalists were laid off but even before that, the paper had become a poor imitation of what it once was.

Been reading William Gibson since maybe 1988ish. My favorite living writer I’m not married to.
Virtual Light newly available on audio and listening, it’s feeling so immediately + sadly relevant and I’m Really wanting to know why This One was unavailable on audio for so long.

and having it regurgitate the same looking picture for you and a million other people doesn’t make you an artist. If it did, than shit, we’ve all been artists the second the photocopier became commercially available. Using prompts to make art AT BEST maybe makes you a writer and guess what? That is

Look, I don't want to be mean, but maybe John is just not great at recommendations? It's fine, he's a better writer than me. Swings and roundabouts.

(It is noticeable that my recommendations are aimed at kids and teenagers, whereas his seem to be adult sci fi.

Just make bad art, and don't let people tell you that you can't or shouldn't and if your college writing professor says that it is classist and ableist to hate on generative AI... Maybe switch classes and ask for a refund because that person ain't gonna make you a better writer either. 😘

You tempt me to buy it, KB is an interesting writer and maybe she's got some good vomit inducing stuff there by pretending to give him a listening ear.

It's Friday, time to sit back, relax and maybe even get up to some mischief.

Also, since this is coming from the perspective of a writing instructor...

When I want some writing to accompany my art, I just write poorly.

Maybe one day I'll write well, or collaborate with a writer or something.

But I ain't asking ChatGPT.

Maybe he meant “Shakespeare” the writer (who he thought was Edward De Vere)? He loved a good yarn, so inconsistency between interviews wouldn’t be out of character.

Find your new favorite writer, enjoy the wide weird wonderful world of people who can’t stop creating, spread the word about your work if that’s you, & maybe scoop up a book or two. #FridayReads is here for you!
It’s #FridayReads time! Let’s share some books. Repost this and let us know what to repost for you. Here’s the kind of bilingual, multicultural stuff full of BIPOC and queer representation that angers fascists. Much love.

Maybe blocked only in India or South Asia then? You're the first Asian writer I've seen use a bookshop link so I didn't realise it works here. Can confirm it's blocked for other Indians not just me though.

I am not a writer, so maybe I am just naive, but seems like it's less about where you are than finding a platform to publish what you write. It then needs a capacity to get paid by a platform that could regionalize the content. HuffPost did this a little.

Characters: You gave us some of your personal struggles.

Me, the writer: Metaphorically, yes.

Characters: So, you know how to get us out of all this, right?

Me: Well, not yet... but maybe it's all about the suffering we shared along the way.

I don't have an in world explanation but I always found baseball to not have great history for why it's played in non-US places so maybe they wanted to distance from that? Probably a writer hated baseball though and it was an in joke.

The people trying to tell you you can't make art without an AI tool? don't understand why humans make art. Maybe they're Horror-tainted; I'd certainly believe it.
Put words on a page? you're a writer.
Hum a little ditty? you've just made music.
Don't have tools? scribble in the dirt.

I have no way to prove this but this, Wolumonde and maybe Lingering Echoes feel like they have the same lead writer.
Theres a consistent atmosphere of despair in them hightened by punctuated tragedy.
Feel these stories stays with one the most as its a safe space to explore those conflicted feelings

Maybe a writer who's not so much pleading with the world, but who's really speaking to their cast/colleagues, who will also read this article, and they're telling them "I did my best to ask the world to be kind"

1st draft-maybe 2 weeks, maybe less. I always find the ending the hardest to write. I don't draw or design... images? I'm a writer... let the reader read... let the mind imagine. - for example, when I read Anne Rice, I saw the vampire Lestat as a young Rutger Hauser and not Tom Cruise-I mean really?

I'm ready to be creative. What fantasy chaos am I about to unleash withing these pages? Maybe a dash of Science-Fiction. Of course Scotland will be the backdrop.

I feel like if you were a good writer in that age you escaped genre fiction, but I think early vonnegut and I’d argue some of ray bradbury is great (tho maybe barely sci fi)
