#toebox
the toebox is on the Altras - my toes can actually splay out and articulate in them. The Asics have a slight heel while the Altras have no elevation in the heel. The Altras are also much more flexible. I still have some cushioning in these shoes as they're running shoes for higher-impact activities,

I thought of you the other day when I found hothands/kairo made for sticking in the toebox of your shoes. Your dream is becoming real!!

Does anyone have recs for a supportive winter shoe/boot that's got good traction, is insulated, and also waterproofed? Bonus points if it's got a wide toebox. I live in Vionics and Adidas Supernovas

The Saucony Triumph 23 offers plush cushioning but underwhelms in impact absorption and feels tight in the toebox, reducing comfort and long-run support.

the afternoon light caught my new biking shoes nicely

with that rounded toebox they look like large little kid shoes

which I guess they kinda are

Lots of big lumpy layers of clothes and copious amounts of blankets. Also those orange packets of hand warmers. If your boots are big enough you can put them in the toebox

Looks like he's biasing the outsides of his feet causing the toebox to curl.

Jordan Brand blends textures and materials on the final Air Jordan 1 Retro of the year, mixed with subtle details like an elephant print Swoosh, embroidered Jumpman on the toebox, exposed foam tongue, and a translucent outsole, releasing Saturday, December 6.

they have changed their lineup and most of their classic wide toebox fit shoes have been replaced with narrower ones 😭

Need Henry VIII’s duck shoes to come back into style ASAP.

It is nearly impossible to find shoes with both a low (1.5-2”) heel (ankle tendonitis) and a wide toebox. Even wide width shoes have pointy toe boxes too often.

(Even Dansko. I have Danskos in wide. They’re part of the problem)

steel toe boots are bs. a 5x8 beam fell on my foot, completely ignored the steel toe and went directly for the unprotected area above the toebox. My foot was swollen up like a tennis ball for a week. The entire boot needs to be made of steel.

interesting to see these spongebob stan smith freizeits were originally sampled and photographed as a plain black shoe, but adidas has since added a fake reflection spot to the toebox and photoshopped it onto the product photos

So yea with that, now I have 3 variations of the Chicago colorway.

The ones on the left are some mid tops, with a black toebox and pretty much worn them a lot
(Got them around COVID times)

Top right are my first Chicago high’s from their 2023 release

And bottom right are the low top versions.

Something feels different, but I can’t quite put my toebox on it. The other sneakers beside me on the shoe rack are chatting about their favorite walking trails like usual, so maybe I can just settle my laces? I’m worried about getting the coffee stain off of my mudguard, that must be it.

When they fell apart, I went through a variety of other replacements, including the slip-on deck shoes I'm wearing right now, which resulted in in-grown toenails on both feet. From there, I switched to zero-drop running shoes from Whitin with a wide toebox, and they were good, but I chewed them up.

I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD USE BAREFOOT/WIDE TOEBOX SHOES AND I WILL NOT BE MOVED ON THIS

THE SHOES YOU'VE BEEN WEARING YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ARE TOO NARROW. YOUR TOES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SPLAYED OUT NOT SMASHED TOGETHER

LOOK UP BAREFOOT SHOE BRANDS AND FIND SOME FOR A REASONABLE PRICE

The Air Jordan 1 Retro returns in its classic "Chicago" colorway, this time as a remastered low-top complete with an updated toebox and the return of the thicker Swoosh last seen in 2015-2016, releasing next Saturday, November 15.

realizing as i researching shoemaking that when i want exactly one shape of toebox and height of heel i can get custom shoe lasts 3D printed and simply go insane...

I just prefer Brooks’s even cushioning and shoe shape — the tighter midfoot and wider toebox — to Asics softer inside (and traditional medial posts for overpronation).

Of course, as someone who overpronates a little I can’t wear anything but the Adrenaline and Kayano.

Harley studies machine karmastry, and his specialty is robots and clockbots (of course, 'cuz it's me). He did his best to make Omid's replica accurate but didn't take into account how heavy all that padding would make him.

Thanks for the comm, Omid~! Featuring our Flux Destiny OC's.
