if you get an EV then you'll still be traffic. only you'll be electric traffic now.

what you _really_ want but just probably haven't come to terms with yet is less time in your life of being traffic, less being in a car.

this requires good, safe biking infrastructure as well as an e-bike for many.
280 million e-bikes are slashing oil demand far more than electric vehicles
E-bikes and scooters displace 4x as much demand for oil as all of the EVs in the world.

My iOS peeps: is there a way of updating all installed apps? Or is my best bet indeed to scroll through ye olde list and click update when it appears instead of open? Seems inelegant.

Finished Red Storm Rising a few minutes ago. That was a fun read. I like David Weber and space as the setting for my quasi-realistic battle novels, but this earthbound version worked as well.

Onwards, to Jack Ryan book 1, The Hunt for Red October.
well that was a quick read. Onto some Clancy to tide me over for a few days.

I’m soon going to have the issue of running out of books after these yet not wanting to exit airplane mode and lose the Percy Jackson downloaded books I’m reading with my 10 year old.

The undergrads at the Crimson has consistently done a better job at investigating stories--big and small--than some of the legacy papers. Go college journalism.

Fanciness outside of Na Favola tonight. And then excellent food inside. Nearest to me in the dessert pic next post is an affogato.

took ye olde white Kia out to Golden yesterday, and had to find and disable that feature to automatically adjust speed based off of navigation. for that is awful. way worse than that in the Toyota, and that was pretty bad.

more in the same vein, Lucid edition:

at 9.15% tax on the lease cash and payments but not down payment proper, converting to 0 down, tax included terms, that'd be $876/mo for the Air Pure, $943/mo for the Air Touring, and $1,306/mo for the Air Grand Touring.

I'm thinking a (non-vanity as that'd eliminate mini dino-fren) stegosaurus license plate may be in order for the white Kia

I shall be returning this $41.40 "Ampnova" CCS-NACS adapter posthaste

for it has a 500V DCFC current limit that wasn't disclosed basically at all in its promo materials or Amazon listing.

ordered myself a $41.40 (!!) CCS1-NACS adapter in case I ever get the bug to DCFC on the road with my NACS-port-equipped Kia. quick charging may happen once or twice over my 36 months or maybe I'll get all crazy and go on a road trip. who knows

my attempt to peep some aurora action was stymied by the stupid magnetosphere and all, but at least I got to see what the Busy Forks reads when you hit 0% SOC.

This is pretty amazing: GLP1RAs associated with a significantly lower mortality from colorectal cancer. Note the caveat that the effect was only seen with the BMI > 35 subgroup, though.

A few chapters in—read all his other works thus far. He’s most not as meticulous as Weber. Note sloppiness below re velocity and acceleration…

Trump did the thing, everyone knows he did the thing, and he's got an entire political party and associated media apparatus trying to cover up his clear involvement in the thing. One of the sickest, most sordid chapters in an especially sick and sordid period of modern American history.

Seriously, read these. And then re-examine your priors if somehow you supported the dotard.

I'm contemplating driving out of town to try to see the northern lights tomorrow night, after kid bedtime and all.

Looks like my best bet is to go up I-76 to near Wiggins and then hope for no cloud cover.
