Even if I found Olivia Nuzzi remotely sympathetic, good god she is a terrible writer

Literally imagine if an even remotely socialist country put this out lol
Fox guest on how to save money during the holidays:

"Remember, adults don't need gifts. Focus on the people in your life who are aged 3 to 18. Grandma doesn't need slippers. If they don't live by you, don't get them a gift."

Thinking about how the perfectly sane and humane - and not remotely radical - words coming out of this man’s mouth makes him an outlier in today’s political landscape.
A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

To even remotely understand what Kennedy is talking about requires one’s brain to be thoroughly bathed in the corrosive acid of the right-wing internet.

How right-wing internet conspiracies are an integral part of his second administration.

The only way to remotely manage productive forces at this point is with public intervention and subsidies. It’s due time for socialism. And it gets more obvious every day

Not even remotely a serious news outlet at this point. Pathetic.

I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

Google stopped letting owners of early Nest themostats remotely control their devices last month. But it's still remotely collecting extensive surveillance data from them: https://www.theverge.com/news/820600/google-nest-learning-thermostat-downgraded-data-collection #privacy
Google is collecting troves of data from downgraded Nest thermostats
The thermostats may no longer connect to Google’s app, but they still transmit your data.

"it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed"

This.

This right here.

I'm so, SO tired of having to scrutinize any piece of art that even remotely resembles genAI slop just to determine whether or not it's worth a second thought or any admiration.
Why am I so against generative AI in games?

Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

Spent his life preparing for this moment and he’s not remotely prepared. Democrats need to stop trying to win a Republican primary.
This is a straightforward Republican attack line, what the fuck is he doing
November 15, 2025 at 8:16 PM
my entire fucking adult life, republicans have been proposing absurd fantasies of health care to desperately avoid anything that even remotely might lead to the straightforward solution of single payer
Cassidy: "The president is proposing that we take the $26b that would be going to insurance companies if we just do an extension and give it directly to the American people in which 100% of the money is used for them to purchase healthcare on their own terms. That makes them an informed consumer."

not accusing Elizabeth of this, but there’s a faux-savvy take that floats around lefty circles sometimes that if you controlled for voter suppression, the south looks like the north. not remotely true.

That this is even remotely legal is an egregious failure of regulation of an industry that is clearly out of control.

Make the calls. Complain to MC and Visa.

Call your reps. Tell them that payment processors should be required to process any legal transaction.
So yes, this is a “beginning of the end” thing for me and simple stuff like, for example, having a bank account. Now is a good time to fight this issue and do so very publicly — it’s a matter of financial life or death for me

Nuzzi is a stark reminder that a particular type of gentry — defined by the spoiled delusion that their inner lives and barely-disguised patriarchal catholic bs are remotely interesting — should be kept as far away from media power as possible.

The opposite happened and now it's everyone's problem
