#introduction
Here we go again with CVS Specialty on PrEP access.

Their new claim is that if my primary insurance doesn't cover a prescription, my secondary insurance can't cover it -- which beyond being nonsensical, would completely defeat the purpose of having secondary insurance!

You are, in fact, out scouring the streets to disappear people and deny people their civil rights and due process

Putting a professional face on the bigot kidnappers does not make them professional or not bigots or kidnappers

ICE must be destroyed.
Homan: "ICE is a legitimate federal law enforcement agency. We're not out scouring the streets to disappear people or deny people their civil rights or due process."

The new gentry AI push: "Bro, you just need to prompt it harder, bro. Bro, come on, like we just gotta talk it out, bro, just gimme a few ten billions more and I promise you it's gonna be Abundance, like so much Abundance, just like Star Trek, bro

Come on bro, you just gotta trust me"
I consider it a promising sign of weakness that the rhetoric from the gentry indulging "ai" is shifting a bit from "it's inevitable! Shut up!" to "can't we have a reasonable discussion?"

The way a drunk frat bro pleads with the bar crowd he's been harassing all night not to finally kick his ass.

Last night, Mayor Paul Young of #Memphis explicitly, directly, and repeatedly misgendered a community member, Brandy Price, who is a trans woman (around 42:40 in my livestreamed video of the event: www.facebook.com/share/v/185F... ).

Today remains a good day to be a good person and Not. Break. The. Line.

Delete the app! Buy local coffee instead!

Today I'm sipping a lovely cold brew from Just Love Coffee in #Memphis on Madison. What's your favorite local shop?

This is hugely anecdotal but I can tell we're in a recession because the '$generation should stop splurging on basic needs' posting has come across my feed.

One of the contributing factors to this, if you read between the lines, is the PILOT tax abatement that ends at the end of this year. Big box stores pay a lot in property tax, and this is a Good Thing; in fact, I'd make it exponential and add in further assessments for square footage if I could.
It might be silly to some, but a lot of Memphians were really proud of this IKEA. Of all the places they could have put it, they chose us, and they made it huge and cool, calling back to the cavernous furniture showrooms of old.

It'll be missed.

More thoughts, over on my campaign account...
IKEA Memphis was the retailer’s first and only store in Tennessee.

Post a banger that is not in English.

"Weight of the World," from the (full of bangers) NieR:Automata OST. Keiichi Okabe is an amazing composer and while there's an official English translation on the OST, I usually prefer the original Japanese.

Them: If you don't understand what the System has tried to do, you can't work within the System to make change

Me: Bold of you to assume I want the System, which failed to make change repeatedly, to continue to exist

So these two people in the future try to save humanity, but turns out everyone's dead already and then the woman dies and the man decides to duel this other woman to the death because of really unfortunate timing
So this plumber eats mushrooms to fight evil turtles to rescue a princess.

I am deeply amused that I'm in the middle of "American Left-Wing Media and Comedy", "Horror Film Enthusiasts," "Film Critics and Journalists," and "Indie Music Critics and Journalists"

This amuses me greatly because I'm not really that into horror movies

💜 this as a living of Toni Cade Bambara's "the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible"
Benito is a threat b/c he makes art so alluring and enjoyable you want to understand everything about it and then you end up learning about sugar and slavery and colonialism and the Taínos and Hawaii and then you probably have some thoughts of your own, and that's why art is powerful and dangerous

One of the most key skills I've had to pick up (and I'm still working on it) is letting disingenuous attempts to argue roll off me

It's pretty easy here, relatively, but local political figures get a bit more under my skin than I'd like
