As a Emily Brontë superfan (the best Brontë btw), I’m waiting until the new “adaptation” is available to rent at home because I’m afraid I may end up going full William Prynne

Rhyme is the public truth of language, sound paced out in the shared places, the echoes are no-one’s private property or achievement; thus any grace (truly achieved) of sound is political, part of the world of motion and place in which language is like weather, the air we breathe.

J.H. Prynne, 1968

Lately, Prynne keeps coming to mind.
Perhaps it’s time to return to these letters.

Ladies, what say you? This is very Hester Prynne. Clearly, something is not right with him.
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”
Nick Fuentes: “The number one political enemy in America is women. … They have to be imprisoned.”

. . . Since each time what
we have is increasingly the recall, not
the subject to which we come. Our chief
loss is ourselves; that’s where I am, the
sacral link in a profane world, we each do
this by the pantheon of hallowed times.

Permit me to put forward 2 titles (and essentially the same length), viz. @rentravailer.bsky.social _Courting India_ and that @davidveevers.bsky.social chappy ('damn the trees, full speed ahead!' as W Prynne, Esq might have said @johngillibrand.bsky.social 🤣) _The Great Defiance_
