Yeah, she’s Pembroke, Petawawa, and surrounding area. With riding restructuring I don’t recall how far out it goes. Lots of social conservatives. There’s no loyalty to her, it’s pure party loyalty. She doesn’t really campaign besides somebody putting out a ton of signs for her.

Last spring, I visited a memorial at CFB Petawawa for some of the local Canadian soldiers killed in battle in Afghanistan.

Pffffft! It was -12C here recently, if CNN thinks -6C is really really cold they are in for a surprise. Reminds me of the time the 101st came through CFB Ottawa on the way to CFB Petawawa (now Garrison Petawawa) for cold weather training. They were not well equipped* for the temperatures.

Here's a more recent map showing the coastal zone. There were some people farming in central BC who were outside (and not interned) but the majority were in coastal BC, including all my relatives. There were actual camps, and also "ghost towns" where people had to live (paying for own internment)

If you only stop to refuel quickly it's 12 hours from CFB Petawawa to DC, assuming the Pentagon is busy dealing with a regiment of assaulters and operators beating their door down that might genuinely be fast enough with a little RCAF top cover.

I think the "minimum viable US invasion of Canada" would involve occupying Parliament and nearby transportation and broadcast infrastructure in Ottawa. They'd likely also have to close Canadian airspace and isolate Ottawa from the CAF bases in Montreal and Petawawa. Maybe also blockade coastal ports

On the way back I stopped by a pub in Petawawa where I heard they have pool. In fact they have about a dozen tables! That’s the one thing I really missed living out in the country, especially the old pool halls on Yonge Street. This is a pretty good approximation 🎱

You mean how the US has allowed China to train at CFB Petawawa? As well nato had nothing to do with this invasion. Russia agreed in 97 under the Russia nato founding act that former soviets can join whoever they want. As well NATO had a contingent Ukraine from 14-22.
