#hayfever
So YOU are the one I get to blame for hayfever.

Good. To. know.

Which. I'm not even taking close to. So maybe I hike that up. I just sometimes wonder if I'm.. like.. exaggerating symptoms? Creating them? I'm a bit sniffly so it must be hayfever type thing? Hmm idk. I have a doctor's appointment next week, will be interesting to see how that goes.

Americans if they named Spring too: Dude, I love Grow but I get really bad hayfever
January 7, 2026 at 9:29 AM
That dows not sound like fun! The year round hayfever is bad enough. I do have a bunch of things I commonly just. Put up with but am starting to realise are probably not normal. Whether I can actually do anything about it or not is another story.

It’s over 40 degrees. Our AC requires windows to be open to work. I am also having one of the worst Hayfever attacks of my life, which gets worse when windows are open.

Any ideas for solving this conundrum?

This is me - perpetually feeling like I’m maybe coming down with something. I have year round hayfever and likely have (mild) MCAS
January 7, 2026 at 12:30 AM
Starting to wonder whether my constant chronic hayfever is affecting my tonsils and making me feel more sick than I am. Because like. The number of times I feel mildly rubbish in the nose/throat/head department can't be normal. Idk. I never really thought about it but something definitely seems off.

Gotta say, it's incredibly annoying that developing a moderately serious food allergy has conditioned my body to respond to *all* allergens with the new reaction response.
So now it seems every time I suffer from Hayfever, I get the fun side-effect of *also* breaking out in hives.

Am I actually sick or am I just tired with raging hayfever? A game for the ages..

It's not bleak when you have 5 family birthdays and one big national booze up. Orthodox Christmas as we've one of those in our household. Best month of the year, get fed up of people moaning about it with tedious predictably every year. Loadsa joy. No sunburn, no biting insects, no hayfever. Bliss.

Peanut allergy and hayfever

I grew up more in Cornwall than Devon and my summers were just months of bright sunshine and sparkling seas.
Sadly spoilt by hayfever which I never suffered from in the Mediterranean.
This was my favourite beach

Suddenly started being all stuffy and sneezy this afternoon.

Was reminded that I get early hayfever and checked the Pollen Pal app does year-round forecasting, which is starting to hit medium tree pollen, with my nemeses starting to crop up.

IT IS JANUARY 3RD THIS IS ENTIRELY UNREASONABLE
January 3, 2026 at 6:43 PM
Well the forecast snow has arrived 🥶 And there's a biting cold wind blowing it around. Still on the plus side the pollen count is zero and the UV is low so always a bonus for us hayfever and rosacea sufferers!

I can't find an box shot of the hayfever desensitisation meds that basically put me in a coma for a couple of days so here's a generic image instead.

2nd January
#3GoodThings

1. Visitors have gone home
2. Decorations are back in the loft
3. My hayfever is subsiding now the grand guinea pigs have gone home

If you have a birch or alder pollen allergy, now’s a good time to start your hayfever pills.

No pets here either but close to the forest. Think I might just keep the faith and hope it helps the missus in the summer with her hayfever 🤷🏼‍♂️
January 1, 2026 at 3:33 PM
Grass seed hayfever is fun. It makes me feel like I’m gonna die but I still just have to do normal things.

And the only thing that helps it, nasal steroids, gives me mouth ulcers and huge depressive/aggressive mood swings.

I loathe summer.

Summer hayfever update:

Nose - fine
Inner ears - fine
Throat - fine
Right eye - DEFCON 1
January 1, 2026 at 12:08 AM
But I was thinking - you have all that data and if you get hayfever/ allergies there might be another angle to examine, because the OTC antihistamine/ seizure link kinda blew my mind when I found out about it in 2020.

We know Covid isn’t over & reinfection risks long term health benefits
Shouldn’t govt keep us updated on risk levels as they do with hayfever or bad weather
Is it worth masking in confined spaces ?
Here's a really easy New Year's Resolution:
If you're sick with something contagious, you will stay home if your circumstances allow.

If you can't stay home, you will mask around others until there is no possibility you are contagious.

By making these choices, you will literally save lives.

My highlight of 2025 was discovering Dymista.

My friend who suffers from horrific hayfever gave it to me and it cured me in a week.

… And this year I went to Paris… But this is my highlight, that is how bad my allergies are 😅
