Migrated from the hell hole and found it much better for my mental health here. I live a quiet retired life in rural Suffolk, UK with Himself who is finally working part-time in the wind down to retirement, 12 yr old arthritic dog, 2 cats and 6 chickens.

Making it make sense: Epstein wasn't a global mastermind. He did not orchestrate a vast conspiracy that led us to today.

He was a very rich man with connections to other very rich men. The shared culture of these men is that they have a right to dominate and abuse others without consequence.

Labour's changes to immigration rules, including potentially applying them retroactively, would be some of the most draconian anti-immigration policies in decades. They're the hostile environment on speed.
This is pure cruelty as policy, with absolutely no merit to them

Ultimately, the global web of corruption and debauchery exposed in the Epstein Files is too big to be just handled by journalists. We need an international answer to this on a Nuremberg Trials scale. Those trials weren't run by journalists, but by lawyers and military not-unaccustomed to evil.

And yet, in the House of Lords, we still have Lebedev - a national security risk if ever there was one; Mone - who defrauded all of us of tens of millions - and countless other unsavoury characters elevated by Johnson, Cameron and all the rest of their corrupt ilk.
The government has:
1. Referred Mandelson to the police for investigation over leaking sensitive information while in government
2. Decided it *will* try to strip Mandelson of his peerage after all.

That’s both throwing him under the bus and then reversing to make sure in one fell swoop.

Reform UK is the self-styled anti-establishment movement that claims to stand up for women and girls against the supposed dangers of immigration and liberal elites, so why is it staying silent on Epstein?

Reform UK’s silence on Epstein speaks volumes
A politics that claims to defend women while refusing to confront the systems that harm them is not about protection. It's about strategy.

One way of resolving one part of the Mandelson issue is to stop having lords. It's 2026, FFS. Grow up! You don't need a weird feudal system of social superiority.

Who can argue with Starmer wanting the swift removal of Mandelson from the House of Lords? But, Lebedev, the son of a KGB agent, poses a far more dangerous and imminent threat to the UK.

Time for a stiff broom to the whole place.
What is he still doing there and Mone? It needs reviewing urgently.

Breaking:

The European Commission said on Tuesday it would investigate Mandelson, who was European trade commissioner from 2004-8 before leaving early to return to UK politics.

Mandelson draws a pension from his time there and has to adhere to a code of conduct for former staff.

Siri, how is a modern day act of treason by a Lord of the realm defined….
Following on from this, Faisal Islam has written an absolutely extraordinary account of how this leak from Mandelson to Epstein resulted in Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan) threatening Alistair Darling: don't tax bankers bonuses or we'll stop buying British bonds.

Horrific, shocking corruption.

Very true. And the net must now be cast wider. To the present day. To those now sitting in the House of Commons and those wanting to stroll into No10. Those who’ve helped carry out the authoritarian, self-enriching, regulation-trashing agenda of this oligarch-funded global crime network.
