I work on the confluence of advertising, AI and politics
My friend Graham Hughes is live on youtube right now, as he is every Friday night. Him and his guests talk politics from the week. Watch him live, 130 people are watching and I think he'll be delighted (as will I) to have more UK & US peeps!

This is an excellent article by @zoejardiniere.bsky.social. Very pragmatic and well-reasoned suggestions that (in theory) could be supported by people all the way from the centre-right to the left.

You may remember WeCrashed, the TV series about WeWork's fall...and how Adam Neumann was its delusional and utterly deranged CEO whose biggest skill was obtaining inflated valuations for WeWork.

Well, I give you Elon.

Following on from this, Faisal Islam has written an absolutely extraordinary account of how this leak from Mandelson to Epstein resulted in Jamie Dimon (JP Morgan) threatening Alistair Darling: don't tax bankers bonuses or we'll stop buying British bonds.

Horrific, shocking corruption.

There's more.

On 31 March 2010, Lord Mandelson's principal private secretary sent him a note of a meeting between the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Larry Summers, US Treasury Secretary.

Lord Mandelson forwarded it to Jeffrey Epstein five minutes later.

I love Norway, but this shocks me.

Terje Rod-Larsen, Norwegian diplomat, key figure in the Oslo Accords and former director of the International Peace Institute, sent Epstein a one-line email:

"Have you heard the saying: when you meet an Indian and a snake, kill the Indian first!"

It seems impossible to me that Andrew could have been indulging in all sorts of depravities at Epstein Island and the Royal Family didn't know.

I am very excited to see the detail in the India-EU trade deal, which I believe is going to be signed today? It's taken nearly two decades of promises and negotiations so I'm sure it's got a lot of compromises, but I hope some radical good stuff too.

I tried Threads for a while. It's full of so many trashy influencers from instagram it was suffocating and annoying. So now I'm back to bluesky, hopefully for good.

Unbeknownst to many, January 26th is an especially big day in British history.

It's Australia/Invasion Day, marking the start of colonising a continent.

It's also India's Republic Day, the day the British Monarchy was replaced by a constitution and an elected President.

I hope more Americans realise how militaristic and violent their country is, and that Trump is a symptom, not an anomaly.

Let's not blow this out of proportion. It was just an admin error. Two admin errors. A few admin errors. Seventeen admin errors worth £380,000.
… including payments for promoting gold, presenting on GB News and from his friend George Cottrell, within 28 days.

Reform UK leader apologised for what he described as administrative errors by his team.

Again remembering the GOP rep who responded to Pres. Obama once wearing a tan suit to a press conference with “There’s no way any of us can excuse what the pres. did.”

Now we’re just cool with the US pres threatening Denmark/Greenland, kidnapping leader of VZ/stealing their oil, invading MN, etc.
Trump just posted this. Coup the twat already.

The far right’s new slur “AWFUL” isn’t just abuse, it’s a method of misogyny. Turn women into a stereotype, and gendered violence becomes narratable, excusable, and even desirable.

“Involuntary parks” — lands emptied by war, pollution or conflict — can become accidental refuges for wildlife.

From the radioactive Hanford Reach to the disputed Kuril Islands, nature often rebounds without people, raising hard questions about conservation, recovery and responsibility.
Involuntary parks: Human conflict is creating unintended refuges for wildlife
Few locations on Earth are as haunting or deeply ironic as so-called involuntary parks — places too toxic, dangerous, or otherwise made off-limits for human habitation, but which have paradoxically…
