I build tech for good. I also talk a lot about stuff that makes you think.
I'm more excited talking to it about dental issues and sports injuries, but I've shared with those who might be open to talking to you about mental health chats they've had!

The Left is fundamentally different: when we find people who don't know, we say "here are 5 books and 3 articles on the subject".

Then you don't understand power.
If the monarch had to use his prerogative to block a bill from becoming law after it had passed parliament, that would be considered a complete failure on his part. The point is that you influence it earlier in the journey.

It is interference. The Monarch gets a look in before parliament.
One of the reasons British Museum cannot even loan, much less return, stolen art is because a law passed by Queen's Consent prevents it.

I'm with you. Charles is not just a public face though, as head of state of the biggest tax havens in the world, he's an active facilitator of wealth networks. The monarchy is one of the reasons Britain can never get a wealth tax.

Not sure why you can't reply.
The link you've shared explains the RP academically and innocuously. If it seems fine to you consider that the person with this level of authority over your country will pass it on to his son, who will pass it on to his, and so on.

Yes, America should aspire to get rid of tyranny but create a dynasty of Trump descendents who receive untold wealth from the public for the difficult task of waving from balconies and seeming gracious while believing they have better blood than their subjects.
Hard pass. No kings, thx.

The point of ‘no kings’ is consistent limits on power.
If you think the British monarchy is irrelevant or non-existent, I'd encourage you to read about the King's Consent, the Royal Prerogative, look at the biggest tax havens in the world and see which ones are his realms.

As a committed anti-monarchist, I've been trying to highlight the irony for people in Britain (and Canada and elsewhere) supporting the No Kings movement.
To no avail.

It doesn't work. The British monarch has interfered and intervened in lawmaking thousands of times. There is literally a privy council that deploys the monarch's power behind the scenes.
And the biggest tax havens in the world? Ruled by the monarch.

The "no power" nonsense is what they want everyone to believe. British monarchs have literally interfered in thousands of laws. And don't even start on tax havens.

To be clear, most commonwealth nations do not have the British monarch, or any monarch, as head of state. You're referring to Commonwealth Realms, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand.
A realm. So basically your entire country is property of the monarch. You can dress it up, but thats what it is.
