Another sunset from February 2016 on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. Looking North West-ish from Kuaotunu, the bush and beach in the foreground, the sea and the north of the land beyond. The moon riding high above the clouds.

Europe and the UK should come closer together – on security, on economy or on defending our democracies.

Ten years on from Brexit, our futures are as bound as ever.

So, it is in our common interest to be ambitious about our partnership.

Dear UK media,
If you’re going to fall for Farage’s every cry for attention, FFS, be ready with the facts that show that, not only is he peddling anti-immigrant sentiment/racism for votes, but he’s lying about the stats too.
It’s dangerous and dishonest.
Please say so.
Thanks
A v tired-of-this, UK
Farage is clearly misleading the public.

The main reason that net migration fell by 445,000 (year to June 2025 it was 205k, having been 649k a year before) is that immigration fell by 401,000.

The BBC should fact-check/verify and report that this was untrue.

10 years ago today, I was driving from the Bay of Islands to The Coromandel Peninsular in NZ. Couldn't resist the temptation of activating zl1/nl-076 Mount Parihaka in Whangarei for SOTA.
Nice and easy drive up, which was nice 😀

£240m. With no tender. Palantir.

I wrote to Wes Streeting last week demanding answers.

Every day without any transparency deepens the scandal.

Palantir out.
Mandelson’s malign influence runs right through the heart of this Government.

Not least in the govt’s NHS data deal with Palantir – a spy-tech firm co-founded by a man who thinks the NHS should be ‘ripped up.’

I've written to Wes Streeting urging him to ditch this dangerous deal.

Obviously never been to Bangor University which happens to have to have excellent b&b accommodation and a fantastic restaurant with amazing views over the Menai Straits to Anglesey. Oh and a few Nobel Prize winning alumni and - Oakeshott wouldn't rate him, perhaps 😂 - director Danny Boyle.
So very Trumpian. Is this really what you want? Your local university having to close down because Reform are having a hissy fit? Loss of jobs, loss of opportunities, loss of investment in your community? Look at who they are and what they're threatening!

Pleased to qualify it with 7 QSOs!
A long way to go to be the first to activate it though 😀

There's some roadworks that have been taking place on the Shropshire/Worcestershire border for TWO YEARS.
So far, we've seen people working there for about 3 days drilling holes and pouring concrete down them.
Time for a birthday party!

Some people aren't getting their ASDA delivery...
Apparently last night, an ASDA delivery van attempted to cross the ford at Neen Savage in Shropshire but didn't quite make it.
It's now wedged against a footbridge some 1.2km downstream.
Driver is apparently OK

More and more leads are pointing to suspicions that this unprecedented pedophilia scandal was co-organized by Russian intelligence services.
