The dev brain relies heavily on glycolysis. If fetal glucose and insulin levels are elevated via maternal hyperglycemia, HA synthesis capacity may rise, while oxidative or inflammatory stress accelerates HA turnover. Together, this could influence developmental timing and critical-period regulation.

He was dealing with things like the citric acid cycle, glycolysis, aerobic vs. anerobic, and other cellular respiration topics.

One of the questions asked for something like four specific pathways something can happen.

🦠 Gut–lung crosstalk in sepsis: Dysbiosis + barrier failure → LPS translocation, lung inflammation, NETs, ALI/ARDS. Immune shift to glycolysis (HIF-1α), ROS/mtDNA, gut metabolites worsen injury. Restoring the axis (probiotics/FMT, vagal activation, immunometabolic profiling) may improve outcomes.

22. 🔋 Synergistic Strategies: Ketones + Near-Infrared Light

Ketones

• Supply an alternative fuel when glycolysis is impaired.

• Cross the blood-brain barrier and convert to acetyl-CoA, feeding directly into the TCA cycle.

• Improve mitochondrial efficiency and reduce ROS.

For example for #PEM/exertional intolerance: Variants in ACADM/HADHA/ELOVL4/ENO3 (FAO/glycolysis) and SLC7A9 (AA transport) suggest reduced ATP & metabolic flexibility. KCNJ18/CACNA1S/SLC12A3 alter K⁺/Ca²⁺/Cl⁻ handling; SPTA1/SLC4A1 impact RBC oxygen delivery. Not one #MECFS path... many.

Examples: ENO3 (glycolysis), ACADM/HADHA (FAO), KCNJ18/SLC12A3 (channel/transport), SPTA1/SLC4A1 (RBC), MYH7 (sarcomere). It is a very small study; so there are limitations, but several findings are hypothesis generating or potentially actionable or testable in clinic-style workflows.. #MECFS
