I'm just past 50k words, and I just made a snippet graphic for one of my favorite parts, actually!
Such Sweet Sorrow snippet: “Lucien? Lucien Cartier? Are you here alone, Lucien?” The planchette rocketed to the ‘no’ and hovered for a moment, before circling it. Then, it started to move. D. A. N. G. E. R. My eyes widened, and I pulled my hands away, jumping away from the board. “No! Nope! Nope! I’m done!” “Beks, don’t pull you hands — Fuck!” The planchette began to move again, jerking in quick, intense circles as Elena screeched. Her elbows were locked, and her body was straining as if she couldn’t pull her hands away. It jerked once, then again, before landing on the nine. Jerk. Jerk. Eight. Jerk. Jerk. Seven. “Rebecca, sit your ass back down and HELP me!” I stared, shocked, as it jerked again. Jerk Six. Jumping back into my chair, I placed my hands back on the planchette. It stopped moving in jerky circles, but Elena was terrified, her breaths heaving from her in great, shuddering sobs. “What the fuck, Elena?! What the fuck?!” I couldn’t think of anything else to say, and both of us yelled as cabinets in the kitchen began to slam in unison. THUNK THUNK THUNK THUNK — “Stop! Fucking stop!” To my surprise, the slamming stopped, and I stared at Elena, at a loss. The room was deathly quiet as the candles sputtered indifferently across the table. The planchette moved, and Elena let out a guttural noise that was somewhere between a moan of dread and a sick nauseous complaint. D.O.N.O.T.P.L.A.Y. “Don’t play? What does that mean?” D.A.N.G.E.R. My hands were shaking as the planchette moved faster. P.R.O.T.E.C.T. “Wait, wait, you’re moving too fast —” As I spoke, the planchette flew to the goodbye on the board. “Goodbye.” Elena wrenched her hands away as if the plastic had bitten her, and I pulled mine away as well. The moment our hands were both away from the board, I saw something out of the corner of my eye — a flash of bright red hair — and the board flew into the air as we both screamed. I finally finished the 1st big movt. in #LionGirl! (There's about 3 more to go, but I'll take it :) )

This Nov. really hit me, so I've tried to adjust my expectations and stretch writing the first full draft across two monthes. I think I can still make it! ^^;
The Chimera made a noise, halfway between their earlier whining and a rumbling purr, and Ashed laughed at their pouting. It was true that Anni wasn't a morning person. In fact, she had come in after her morning foraging classes to find the Chimera still curled up on stage, but she wasn't how much of that was due to Anni themself or their nightly schedule patroling the music hall.

Oh yah i forgor to post my update, but things progressed quite well this week! Up to 9k, things have cleared up and shaped really nicely, and i think i can get onto the final stretch where i can write the final action sequence!

Here's an excerpt from the early paragraphs:
He flipped his beads in his hand back and forth. Ma had been hospitalized again. The nurse on the phone had told him that it was because of exhaustion. Third time this month. He flipped his beads again, clacking them purposefully against his metallic fingers. He could not hear their echo amidst the busy hallways filled with murmurs, coughs and muffled cries. The shifts at the assembly line where ma worked were cruel and demanding and unchecked; those complimentary free hospital checkups and the extra barrel of water gifted upon exceeding quota were not nearly enough to restore all the damage bore by any limbs. His hand knew that truth intimately.

Text that reads: Evdokia remained in the storeroom silent and staring ahead. Her grip loosened on the pouch until it hit the floor and the coins rolled out, clattering against the crates full of artefacts she had collected for Myrna. Her sister worth as much as a broken piece of pottery, just another item to collect and sell.

Once again a busy week, partially because of comic stuff. 😂

I especially like writing the scenes where we're in Vardan's PoV and get to interact with spirits as he feels what they feel.

I like toying with the poor, stoic guy's feelings... :)
A snippet of writing, too long for the alt here, so I'll summarize. A boy named Bill had run away from home and was captured by a vaguely humanoid-looking bog spirit. Vardan and Eric are here to negotiate. Bill is almost completely submerged in the swamp, only his head being visible from the peat moss. Vardan tells the spirit to release Bill but the spirit refuses, saying it would claim the boy as its new Hedge, a spirit beach which the townsfolk had to kill to save the storyteller, Eric, from its clutches. The spirit doesn't blame the humans for what they did. The Hedge aimed its rage on the wrong person and refused to hear reason from the elder spirits. But this boy, Bill, him the spirit does blame for the fate of the Hedge. If he hadn't stolen that gem, none of this would have happened. Vardan quickly realizes how hopeless the situation is. He is talking to a grieving father who wants to take revenge on the one whose actions led to the death of his son. He would make the thief into his new son, his new Hedge. The spirit's sorrow grew so strong it spilled over into Vardan's mind and the negotiation was over. Bill submerged and Vardan would have to act quickly. A digital illustration and character headshots for my novel. An elven man named Vardan sits on a tree stump near a forest river with his two trained foxes. He's fishing and his fishing rod is propped up next to him. A curious blond stranger approaches from the path behind him. The headshots depict the three central characters; Eric the storyteller, Vardan the fox farmer and Geoffroi the reeve. Eric is a blond man with fluffy animal ears and dressed like a bard, Vardan is indeed an elf with brown skin, purple hair, a beard and dressed modestly, and Geoff is an elderly black nobleman with floppy spaniel ears.

here's the snip. Kenzie in an unusually vulnerable position.
“He passed through here twice,” Rowan described the scene as they picked up the pace. “One way and then the other. The prints in this direction obscure the ones going the other way--this trail is fresher!” The ground rose, grew firmer as they ventured out of the muddy depression. Ferns whisked by Kenzie’s arms as they jogged along. “His trail runs straight!” Rowan’s voice rose dangerously with excitement. “He was moving fast, not covering his tracks. Kenzie, let go of me!” “What! You can’t just leave me here!” “Get down--hide--against the tree!” Rowan shoved her and she sat down hard in a cradle of roots, fronds brushing her cheeks and covering her head. She snatched at him but he slithered out of her reach. “I can move faster on my own--I can catch up to him,” Rowan swore. “This is our chance--he fucked up leaving this trail. It’s not like him--he got upset, he got overconfident, I don’t know. But I have to run or we’ll lose him again!”

A trillion reactions collided in Zoey's mind at the same time, compressing to a white dwarf star of joy, a fusion reaction shocking her into a new life. She blinked away forming tears, and...and...she-"what's your name?" She asked. " ..Indira." "Indira," Zoey intoned, a prayer, a hosannah, a blessing. "Hi." Her skin was radiant again, there was a glow. Her eyes were bright. The tension she'd noticed before had disappeared. "Hi, I'm Zoey." "Good to meet you," her future wife said. "I'm sorry it took this long." Zoey sobbed. "Babe, Indy-is that okay?" Indira nodded. "Indy, love, no, I'm just glad you're here now." Zoey pulled her in, gave her a kiss. "Thank you, ZoZo. I love you." Her voice was small, but it filled Zoey's ears like thunder. "Welcome home, my love." Zoey held her close, their foreheads touching, sniffling and trying not to break into sobs. Indy's breath was steady, even, the person Zoey fell in love with returned with just a few words.

There's only one tent.
Somehow, they were sitting shoulder to shoulder by now, so when she turned to scrutinize his expression, his face was very, very close. ‘You know I’m chaos,’ she thought, searching those ice-blue eyes. ‘But you sent Danaïs to me anyway. You claim to prize order so much. You think it’s Requin’s regimented regularity you want. You tell yourself that, anyway. You did enough to try to uphold it. You killed for it. And yet you find yourself drawn to havoc…’ A powerful impulse surged within her chest, hot and insistent and making the breath catch in her throat. Her eyes dropped to his lips, and for a heartbeat, all the world around her seemed muted. Almost, she leaned over. Almost, she listened to the singing in her blood that threatened to overwhelm her good sense. Almost, she gave in to the urge to press her mouth to his, catch his lower lip between her teeth, grasp him by the back of the neck and swing herself to straddle his hips and show him that, no, she wasn’t going to ask, she would act. Only almost. With a deep breath that she hoped didn’t sound as shuddering as it felt, she wrenched her gaze away, pretending to fuss with something in the pack resting by her other side. * ‘So. Fucking. Close.’ Alestir managed, somehow, not to sigh in disappointment when Maera turned away from him. He’d seen it in her eyes, amber warm with lust as much as flickering firelight. She’d nearly convinced herself, and yet still she held back. Well. He was tactician enough to appreciate any amount of territory won.

Well I started out this month intending to work on #Charagma, & wrote about 25K words!

... Then my muse decided we needed to write #Tenement instead - 11K words! 😅

Unfortunately all the Tenement bits are SPOILERS, so here's the last bit I wrote from Charagma instead:
“Blake,” he repeated, then gave an odd humorless chuckle. “Sorry—I know it must be a common name, so this is probably silly. But... you’re not...?” He cleared his throat. “You wouldn’t happen to be related to the Shepherd Elisgood Blake? The one they called Twoholder?” Ah, so that was it. Mem should have guessed. Of course he’d already heard of her father. Everyone had heard of her father. It must have been quite a shock to realize the girl you’d been getting to know all night was the daughter of a celebrity. “He’s... my father, actually,” she said reluctantly. When she saw the shadow in Light’s expression grow darker, she started to panic. “But it really isn’t anything to make a fuss about. He’s a completely normal person, I swear. And I’m sure he’d like you very much.” Light didn’t say anything for a few moments, which only made her panic worse. He stared at the ground, his thoughts completely unreadable. She waited anxiously for him to speak—to tell her it was fine, to smile again. When he didn’t, she asked in a burst, “You still want to meet later today, don’t you?” The question shook Light out of wherever his mind had gone. He looked up at her again. Smiled, just like she’d hoped he would. But there was a trace of falseness in it now that she didn’t understand. “Of course,” he said. “I’ll see you there later.” “You didn’t tell me your last name either,” she pointed out as he began to turn away. He glanced back. “Bradstreet. Light Bradstreet. Good night, Mem.” Then he strode off down the street at a brisk pace, vanishing into the other shadows. Mem lingered on the threshold, watching even long after he was gone from her sight, a faint quake of dark premonition shaking the foundation of her soul.

I passed 20k words the other day! I'm not sure I'll be able to reach my goal of 30k since I'm going out of town for Thanksgiving this year, but I'll try to get as close to it as possible.

Before Lex could react, Daemrin planted himself between her and the Belenosi men, his back to her. In his raised right hand was a pistol. When had he drawn that? “Hand her over at once, scoundrel!” Hendry demanded. Peeking around Daemrin’s broad shoulders, she glimpsed her uncle’s snarl of disgust. “Or be charged with kidnapping a noblewoman of House Aden!” So much for secrecy. Katorgans worked for the highest bidder, and her measly four hundred credits were dust and ash compared to her family’s funds. She had no doubt Daemrin would hand her over for a satisfactory sum, just like he and Stavro had done with the arsonist, Caiseal Gillain. She and Talna would return to Dun Crunath in the escort of armed guards. While Lex might live to see another day, she couldn’t say the same for Talna. Everything since their flight from the palace would be for naught. But Daemrin did not budge. “Lex,” he said, his voice low, his tone unreadable. Her stomach twisted. Cautiously, she looked up at him, but he was staring down the soldiers. From her angle, all she could see was the back of his head, his ear, and a sliver of his cheek. “Daemrin?” “Do you want to go with them?” “No.” The answer rushed out of her before she could give it thought, desperate, urgent. She grabbed his free arm. “Take me away. Please.” He made a small, amused sound, then raised his voice to a shout. “You know,” he said to Hendry, “that’s a really interesting proposition, but I got a better one: how about you suck my dick!” Daemrin fired.

I'll be able to help people even more than I could when I was an ordinary doctor." "Did you always know you were magical?" Sophia asked her, eyes large and darkly serious. Geni squeezed her closer. "Actually, no. When they tested me at school as a child, I failed. So to learn I am magical now is a great surprise." "And to think," Timon started, "if you had stayed being an ordinary doctor, you might never have known you can do MAGIC!" Geni could have kissed him, and she did, grabbing him down from his little victory dance on the couch to kiss the top of his head. Yes, Timon: if she had allowed herself to remain an unhappy drudge, she never would have known. She couldn't have put it any better, and in front of his father too. How sweet the petty revenge. Again, she looked heavenwards and hoped she wouldn't be judged too harshly for these imperfect emotions of hers.
