Ingrid is a trans...lesbian? Bisexual? i'm not sure. she's definitely gay as fuck in this story. there are a LOT of women in the cast, cis and trans.
Gina is *presumably* straight, but she has sex with a boymoding trans woman, and that can scramble your sexuality.

writing love means writing fear and close, intense emotions. there are scenes which require to push through things that hurt--Ingrid has an incredibly intense disclosure scene that i still have to rewrite to make it *more* uncomfortable. art demands that you pull no punches

A notification. "Amy?" It says. From Brett's number. What the fuck do I do. Tap it, like normal. The messages app opens, with Brett's name at the top, totally blank but for this person's message. Oh no, I forgot their name. Why did that bother me? "Yes" "You just called? I know that was probably weird, but it's good to hear from you!" I don't reply. Just stare at the message, trying to figure out how I know this woman with Brett's number. His wife? Girlfriend? Mistress? Coworker? Polyamorous equal with benefits? "I thought I let you know, and I feel really bad! I'm so sorry!" "What do you mean" the lack of punctuation makes it feel more defensive. "Okay, are you ready?" "For what"' She sends a picture of Brett. Easy smile, strong jaw, big brown eyes, straight black hair-he looked like a super-hot Chris Gaines, which would make him a...Jared Leto? Maybe Nicholas Hoult. This was the game we played with his improbably photogenic face. Then, another picture. She's stunning. Long face, killer bone structure. Her lips are amazing, just full enough to make you swoon-hm?-but not overdone. Her cheeks are dimpled in the...same...way...her chin is...just...and her eyes have that exact...same...what ..recognition. A feeling creeps down slowly, from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, a tingling heat that makes my skin prickle, my hairs stand on end, all because of this picture...not Brett...not her name...this person who is Named…

At the end of their workday, Zack and Zoey were entering their SOAP notes. First two sessions were couples’ massages, shared room, male and female therapist, ideal pairing for the job. The massages themselves were pretty standard—50 min FBM, no avoids, moderate pressure—which let him focus on everything else. Namely, how much more shape Zoey’s body had. She’d stopped wearing the massive, baggy clothes of her early years at the spa, opting for form-fitting, breathable fabrics. He finally saw the lines and curves of her form, her butt—not ‘ass’, still felt demeaning, even to a friend—pleasingly round and firm. Her stomach was close to flat, and she’d showed off her abs to him later that day, flexing and sneering, a joking brag. Why was he only noticing now? “I started hitting it on your off days, so I’m up to five days a week. Added a vest for my weight work, too. Paying off, eh?” She asked, turning around and wiggling her butt. She had to know, right? Had to know. The car exchange was joke that went too far. 80 minute with a girl named Dinah. She looked familiar, not sure where. For some reason, she smelled of tobacco and bourbon, and he couldn’t place that exact combination. Oh! He’d smelled it on Zoey, after that bad night with Lainey. “New perfume,” she’d said. Then another barrage of 50 minute sessions after lunch, three in a row. All nondescript, a couple of changes to the sequence, but nothing interesting enough to note. All of them paid with gift cards, so no telling if they’d be back. Clocked out and back in the car, Zoey’s stomach rumbled. “I’m getting cheat day vibes, what about you?” Zack pretended to think about it—he had been fantasizing about spending way too much at McDonald’s. “For sure.”
