I used to work at a school on the south side of Mt Pirongia & I've seen the rivers and streams rise many times. Friday night's rain was a huge deluge all at once. Ōtorohanga has always had the ability to flood, but this time was possibly the first time it flooded in certain place due to the deluge.

Also, are we gonna have another sob ratepayer news story in a couple of weeks bout the Ōtorohanga council having to foot the bill for repairs to infrastructure that private companies have been neglecting?

35cm of snow forecast above 2300m on Mt Ruapehu tomorrow — 15 Feb. Summer. Someone died today in floods in Otorohanga.

How long before everyday people start putting the pieces together and understanding that We. Must. Act. Now.

And vote for governments who will act NOW. We can’t wait any longer.
