Failing to check the weather forecast ahead of their outdoor promotional event, then declaring themselves heroes for having to run out with an umbrella when it rains, seems symbolic of this government.

Floods in Ōtorohanga, shit storms in Wellington and E. coli in East Christchurch. And this gov cancelled three waters and introduced a rate cap.

There's been this hit job on the Green Party by ACT's NZCPR, claiming money was "stolen" from water infrastructure for cycleways.

In fact, their Council invested significantly, more than others over decades.

They put $2.7 billion to 3W in 2021 and 1.8% of that on cycleways #nzpol

We know Luxon appears devoid of empathy and tact but his media team has to have some kind of awareness too, right?

Two posts side by side from his instagram account. Two hours separate the posts.

Many things in life are nuanced and complicated. The benefits of cycling infrastructure is not one of those things.

AA Insurance's decision will be the first of many as the full force of climate change arrives in New Zealand, one researcher says.

Tofā Soifua and good riddance. Her legacy will be of her sleaziness, her cold heart and her sad need for attention. She worked only for her own interests while constantly stomping down. I never need to hear her name again.

This is what Labour should be doing more of, telling the truth about this deeply shitty government
This government is defunding our health system.

Hey #Resisters!

This is probably the most beautiful and hilarious protest story you’ll find.
Is there violence? Yes.
But this is protesting with “Tactical Frivolity”, which has become the key phrase for #ICE protests, inspired by #Portland

This story happened in #Minneapolis

I found this a really interesting thread, and if you are interested in instructional design, I think you will be too.
Last term I tried an experiment: I walked into my Tech and Design Ethics class, admitted that I had *no idea* what to do about ChatGPT - so I would let them figure it out.

As in: their first project was to decide and write the ChatGPT policy for the class.

Here's what happened:

I managed to get some faint green on my phone eventually

So with Queer Eye coming to a close, it's time for Trans Eye, right?

I'm serious

Queer Eye was massive for shifting public opinion on gay rights, simply by humanizing them. We need that now for trans people

If done as well as the original or reboot, it could show America... We're just people

I remember how the media here covered the Kellie-Jay Keen speech in Auckland (the one where she got souped) that I attended, and how it was described as an angry mob when it was the most joyful, calm day. It was also telling that Action Zealandia turned up to support KJK and got zero mention.
One of the things about people showing up to protest for the first time, that many, many armchair theorists don't grasp, is the effect of seeing what happens with your own eyes, then seeing how media covers it, and what is said ABOUT YOU by media and political personalities/office holders.
This dude is intense and correct

Oh look, a National MP is conducting a survey about bus lanes that looks like it's from NZTA and is biased towards removing them.

It would be a shame if it got lots of responses in favour of bus lanes, right?
