I'm a kiwi, we have general elections every 3 years and local body elections are also every 3 years. Can someone explain the #USPOL system to me like I'm 5 please? What was Election Day 2025? And what are the "mid terms"?
So much voting, so little sense.

Mitch McConnell is one of many reasons I propose a world wide compulsory retirement age of 70 for politicians. They simply don't know when to stop and retire gracefully.

Should we be considering compulsory voting?

What an absolute farce!
National/ACT Coalition government spends over $100,000 a year on a road cone hotline that increasingly hardly anyone uses - with each call leading to less than one road cone removed.

And they took this funding from real worksafe work

After 5 months of the heralded ‘tipline’, just 204 road cones are confirmed gone
In Whanganui, information from the Government’s own Road Cone Tipline had actually led to more cones being put out than taken away. In Wellington, 110 complaints resulted in just two cones being remov...

Wonder what Mister "The world doesn't owe you a living" Luxon would be doing if the Fifth Labour Government had said that to Air New Zealand in 2001 instead of writing a $900m bail-out cheque.

Unemployment has increased by 50,000 since he’s been Prime Minister. That’s 50,000 families affected.

Luxon is just giving up his responsibility as Prime Minister for his citizens - to look tough against people who are trying their best.

Where are the jobs?
god help me. this is just cruelty. these are human beings, you monsters.

Will the brave military men and women of the USA have the guts to resign en masse in the face of Trump, Hegseth et al, or are their pensions and benefits more important to them?

It’s a fact. Data from three decades of political violence reveals that right-wing terror attacks outnumber attacks from the left.

And it’s not even close!

if you can look at it without catching poster’s madness, the list of who actually gets engagement here is pretty interesting. somewhat dire at the top but quickly it’s real and high quality posters.

I read 2 Thomas Coughlan pieces today & hoo boy, calling them steaming piles of shit is just too flattering. I realise he has an audience to pander too, but based on what his job description should be, I would say he's one person doing as bad a job as Nicola Willis & Christopher Luxon in NZ #NZPol

Just your regular reminder that Chris Bishop is both chair of the National Party Campaign Committee, dependent on donations from businesses for a successful campaign, and the Infrastructure Minister, who decides if businesses get to access the RMA fast track process.

The population of the Gaza Strip was 2.2 million.

One out of every three people in Gaza has been murdered for the simple crime of where they were born and what their religion is.

One out of every three.

One. Out. Of. Every. Three.

And the deaths pile up every single day.
