It's $70 to get vaccinated for chickenpox, 15 months are free and you can have a catch up jab at 11 for free if you missed out earlier. I think these subsidies are newer though as they weren't available when my kids were young so they just got the free suite of jabs. I wish they weren't so pricey.

Peter Whitall should have been extradited to NZ to face charges. It's criminal that he was able to simply escape to Australia.

My country (NZ) is significantly safer than yours so I'm not comparing apples with oranges but I draw the line at motorbikes and lone lifts home with coaches, tutors or friend's parents, basically any situation where my child might be alone with an adult. That's when I was vulnerable as a child.

Stanford is doing whatever it takes to get parents riled up against teachers. I support striking for better wages & conditions cos I know the alternative is that my kid's teachers will vote with their feet and either leave the profession or leave NZ for countries where they are better valued.
