Here are 3 ideas to make Parliament reflect Aotearoa better:
1. Hang a copy of Te Tiriti in the debating chamber as a reminder of what is at our foundation.
2. Create space for haka to be performed in the debating chamber.
2. Allow haka from the public gallery with permission.

@maxrushden.bsky.social can you talk about the NZ derby in the A League in this week’s #FootballWeekly ? Football at its absolute insane best. Fergie said it best, “Football. Bloody hell!”

Make no mistake. This is a corporate hostile takeover bid & it should never happen in our education system. Brie perfectly outlines how this coalition makes it easier for more of this corporate crap to take place. Get informed, and then let's push back.

Let's remember that @labournz.bsky.social CGT policy will impact 1 in 10 Kiwis when they sell an investment property. That is the cost. The benefit is that 10 out of 10 Kiwis will get 3 free doctor's visits per year. This is a huge investment in the front line of our health system. #facts #nzpol

As an example of how AI tools have racism inherently built into them, here is a Grammarly suggestion to not have Te Reo Māori first, but to prioritise Reo Pākehā. Needless to say, I find this disappointing and also alarming. #AIisracistAF

3 take homes from this:
1. It is bloody scary to have that many Kiwis believe violence is an answer
2. It highlights a real dissatisfaction with what is happening in NZ under this coalition.
3. Jordan’s attempt toclaim the moral high ground is hypocritical.

Something unexpected that I learned on my research trip last week was this: Chairman Mao was gifted a kahu huruhuru in 1957 by Ramai Te Miha Hayward & her husband, NZ pioneer filmmaker, Rudall. It was a gift of goodwill from Māori King Korokī. #nzhistory

We live in a Māori nation. Our Parliament should reflect that more. The haka from the public gallery is an appropriate response to a maiden speech. Suspended Parliament only reminds Māori that they are not welcome to be authentically themselves there. #nzpol
