Hideo Kojima has expressed his admiration for the finale of Netflix's hit series Stranger Things. Known for infusing cinematic elements into his games, Kojima's appreciation for the series resonates with many, highlighting his influence within both the gaming and filmmaking communities.
Well, At Least Hideo Kojima Loved Stranger Things’ Ending
Or, liked it a lot, in any case!

really lacks in actual narrative meat. which is something that MGS2- a game that MGSV is in conversation with- did much better.

MGSV is just so frenetic, it's all scatterbrained, halfway between being negligently sloppy and being deliberately genius. which could describe lots of kojima's stuff lol.

Good morning motherfuckers. I still have a lot of recs to cover. Since we're hating on "AI" promoted by sickos, go try Kojima's Snatcher. Short fun game that's mostly Cool Vibes, Shoot Robots.

I played it on Gens years ago, but I hear the good emulator these days is Ares: github.com/ares-emulato...

i love death stranding for being so weird and boring and needlessly complicated. i don't like kojima's writing. maybe it doesn't translate well?

So much has happened in 2025, but the major events have been our cameo in Hideo Kojima’s video game #DeathStranding2, our collaboration with Mokuhankan on a series of Japanese traditional prints, and the release of vol.2 of our #TokyoMysteryCafé comic book series. What a year! 😳

I’ve been meaning to play this one myself, it’s a bit of a love it or hate it type of game from what I’ve heard.

For what it’s worth, I don’t believe Kojima had any input on this one as it was developed by Platinum Games as a spin off title, not Kojima’s main MGS team. 😊

I remember some bouncing off Kojima’s autobiography/essay collection a few years ago because they viewed him as unable to understand subtext - but that’s not the case. It’s more that subtext often isn’t where Japanese media really lives. The depth exists on a surface level by design.

Wrecking my sleep schedule because I’m too hooked on Hideo Kojima’s Post-Apocalyptic Amazon Driver Simulator

lmao all these years later and I still don’t really understand what these people want or how they engage with art or the world. you want me to comment on ds2 while totally ignoring everything its story is doing or saying? you want my opinions to be relegated to whether delivering stuff is “fun”?

Kojima’s bonkers sequel lands at #2 on Outerhaven’s Top 10.

Death Stranding 2 trims the fat, tightens gameplay, delivers top-tier cutscenes, smarter delivery routes and vastly improved combat — a gripping, oddly satisfying follow-up.

Norman's nipples are brown. Sam's nipples are pink. This difference may be Kojima's preference.

things to come! ✨

And wow, xen, looking back at your posts from last year, I saw you were interested in Hideo Kojima's Backshots! You have such unique interests! Your passion and dedication this year are truly amazing! I am sure you will keep on being amazing next year too!

Now, let's talk about

My top 10 games of 2025:

#10 - Death Stranding 2: On The Beach

Kojima's latest fever dream. Gameplay is expanded but loses some of its magic in the process. Still a great time overall with one hell of a finale. This JUST barely beat out Doom: The Dark Ages and Pokemon Legends ZA for me.

Hideo Kojima's horror anthology game he is making with Jordan Peele and "an Avengers team of horror directors" already cast her for some role in it.

The real challenge is to find a game that fits the bill AND had a huge ass budget. Really can't think of any outside of Kojima's multi-million bonanzas.

But speaking of indie, have you tried Pyre? I only played it once, years ago, but still think about it. 100% Supergiant's most interesting game.
