Rockstar illegally firing union members to stop the studio from unionizing.

NEW: Rockstar now says it fired 30 employees in the UK for leaking information (not for engaging in union activity), but UK union IWGB told Game Developer that staff in the country have a statutory right to engage in private conversation with union organisers that supersedes any employment contract.

The moves towards unionizing we're seeing in recent years and all this union-busting is just the games industry lagging like a whole-ass century behind the rest. Anyone who's shocked by Rockstar, Activision, or whoever nuking workers as soon as they ask for rights/protections doesn't know history.
It really sucks to be working in the games industry in the pre-unionized era, just as I’m sure it was in other creative industries before the inevitable formal recognitions became standard.
This is the most ruthless act of union busting in the history of the UK games industry. Yesterday, @rockstargames.com unfairly fired over 30 employees for union activity.
