I think the move to Time of Day electric billing was the right move. I don't drive much so this only includes 2 charging days when I topped off the EV. So this is my "car gas" & electricity cost for December. Can't compare to '24 as my boiler was out & I had to heat with 5 portables

So the US far-right are saying if only you let us deport loads of Somalians we wouldn't be so extreme? Now what country's discourse does that remind me of
Curtis Yarvin, JD Vance’s friend & ideological influence, ended 2025 by claiming “only Hitler spoke the truth” about “too many subjects” & “Hitler was a genius.”

Extremism isn’t fringe on the right. Once marginal online extremists like Yarvin are influential at the highest levels of government.

Ant who?
My only hope is Khan deliberately did everything he could to wind up the far right Robinson and his anti woke crusaders (not that one single one of them can actually tell you what anti woke actually means
Trouble is that Khan is way beyond petty points scoring or division

This every time.

All "scares" about the influence of pop media on The Children™ always piss me off, because as far as I can tell—in my experience—the dickheads on the right (AND in the center) are actively IGNORING the lessons they were given by that same pop media when they were The Children™.
No shit.

Look, I had my own issues—heavily influenced by movies/TV, comic books, RPGs, video games—just like the scolds insisted…

…except that those issues were "You MUST be the Good Guy and take on Bad Guys any chance you get." Not so well-adjusted either, but, well…no way was I okay with Nazis.

Israel has been oppressing & harming the Palestinians for a very long time - they got away with so much that genocide was the next logical step for them. I'm not shocked - just suprised it took so long. Why have they been electing the far right Bibi since 1996?

Well that right there is proof his "gunshot wound" was superficial, if not fake. Otherwise he'd have been gushing far more blood.

Without the support of the far right zealots, N would be in prison.

As a cynic, I'm convinced that P.T. Barnum was correct that there's a sucker born every minute. If education is the issue, then I just point to countries with better education systems than the US who still have a problem with far-right parties gaining in the legislature.

38’ Delano Burgzorg is still being allowed far too much space in the inside-right, its too easy to get past his man from one ball over the top.

That hadn't occurred to me, but it is by far the most compelling explanation I've come across of the general state of British politics right now.

Usually I can direct the anger at queerphobic governments, far-right pundits, neo-nazis and the like. But this time it is our own fault. [2/5]

75M did not vote for Trump, so don't cast your net so far and wide. Don't ever believe, that one day, the same can't happen in Canada. Thank Trump for Canadians electing Carney!!!!

"In real life, Willa’s best move,... would be to do what the most prescient among the Occupy generation did: occupy the Democratic Party and transform it into something that can win the narrative battle against the far right..."

On the caniplages, the dog beaches, on the other hand, which are very few and far between, there were bins and bags available, and turds right in front of them. I did what I do at home in Germany: If they are where I want to tread I pick them up. Leave the place like you want to find it.

Beware the restoration of felon voting rights when the far-right agrees to it.
That's because it suits their agenda.
My brother was a far-right felon (from VA). Had more guns than a militia & whackier ideas than Candace Owens.

Really???

Is he going to stop Ofgem, Ofwat and Ofcom continually allowing profitable companies to increase prices?

Is he going to invest directly in the NHS rather than funneling money to private health care companies?

Is he going to stop pandering to the far right??

Hotez points 4, 5, and 6 are true, far as I know
his point 7 is, afaik, nonsense; the biotech industry is notorious for boom and bust cycles, and we are in a bust right now

8 is more nonsense,

also the Nomads are probably not too far off but in real life they'd be a hell of a lot more right wing
January 1, 2026 at 3:32 PM
yeah? What would regrouping look like considering they blew some of their wad in the past year? Like, the advantage that a far right enjoys pre-election is that their shit policies haven't been materialized yet. ie theyd have to coalesce around a new strategy, no?
January 1, 2026 at 3:32 PM
It’s buck wild! I get that the far right was always lying (which is also why they refuse to believe any other white people might oppose racism on principle), but it’s deeply frustrating that many supposedly liberal people are just sort of shrugging about it.
