Not sure this Y axis should've been zero but that aside: this masks the problem that the improvement in projections essentially stopped two years ago, and threatens to worsen in the coming years.

Things *were* getting better. They are not, now.

Traditional conceptions of masculinity underlie the "male loneliness epidemic" and lots of other things and should be put in the bin, with baking replacing football as the national sport
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Reminds me of when a someone from a fossil fuel company said people shouldn't "oil shame" them
A landlord on the Today programme just described landlords as “a race of people who are being targeted”. Parasites playing as victims.

Someone from the far-right VDARE directly reporting to Rupert Murdoch explains an awful lot, and is another illustrative piece of the Aporia -> Quillette -> Times pipeline
Important to remember that Murdoch has been part of the eugenics end of neoliberalism for decades. He’s entrenched with the Islamophobia industry. Also had Peter 👿 Brimelow and Tucker “Great Replacement” Carlson reporting directly. #Auspol

He means the death penalty.

It’s funny that Harvard has been a consistent target for reactionary campaigns, and not one has been dedicated to ousting Larry Summers, an openly political figure who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein; meanwhile, it’s a fine-toothed comb for *checks notes* Black women.

Peter Thiel is in the Epstein emails, enjoying himself.

Peter Thiel is an overt, convinced, outspoken Nazi.

Peter Thiel's company is being paid by the UK government to crawl all over YOUR personal data.

Oswald Mosley's grandson runs his UK operation.

You can't make it up.

At a moment of national emergency, the government handed our data to Peter Thiel’s controversial company

The Guardian gave Goodwin lots of space in the 2010s to whitewash racism as Legitimate Concerns, imbue those Concerns with faux working class authenticity, and denigrate anti racism as the bleatings of a cosmopolitan elite. Its a bit late to start Noticing now.

Thinking about how when a neo-nazi hacked Colombia and released Zohran Mamdani's application the NYT covered it as a major scandal sourced from "Colombia" and yet they were seemingly regularly receiving offers of incriminating evidence on Trump and refusing to publish it.

100%. So many senior people at places I've worked have emailed like this, and it's pure power play. It's the same pricks who are suddenly a lot chirpier and engaged in meetings and calls when there's someone more powerful than them present
emailing in a semi-literate manner isn’t a sign of stupidity, it’s another form of rich asshole arrogance because you don’t think you owe anyone coherent thoughts

This by Tim Harford is very "Look at what you made them do", and in an article about how populists over simplify complex issues it seems remiss to mention that Labour's economic growth strategy essentially boils down to "something something red tape and bat tunnels"

Because he had access to lots of money and sex trafficked young girls and socialised with unfuckable nerds and politics freaks whom he could ply with money and sex trafficked young girls.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

Again, should we be worried that someone who's been so influential within the Labour Party over the last 40 years was very good friends with someone who wasn't only a paedophilic sex offender but a eugenicist?
Given this, and everything we know about Blue Labour, and people like Steven Pinker going to race science conferences, is it really that much of a stretch to think that certain policies and rhetoric of this government are driven by eugenicist beliefs?
The same Sam Bowman and Ben Southwood mentioned in HOPE not hate's race science investigation I assume

Always worth bringing back up that a big part of why evopsych became such a thing was that Jeffrey Epstein was bankrolling it through academic donations
Right, these are the two options: Either they tolerated Epstein's eugenics to get to the sex crimes or they tolerated his sex crimes to get to the eugenics
It seems like all of the rich and powerful people around him patronizingly tolerated the race science stuff (“he has such an inquisitive and childlike mind”) in order to get access to his harem of underage sex slaves

Jeffrey Epstein was developing a series, moderated by @lkrauss1.bsky.social, to bring scientists and celebrities together. The first season would include an episode where "Woody Allen talks about the human condition with Linguist Noam Chomsky."
