Yes - the Eildons belong to Melrose. Nipple Hill belongs to Hawick. Black Hill is with Earlston. Kelso has Peasant Hill shielding the Big 'Ouse from the farm cottages' knickers blowing in the breeze.

It’s frozen here too. I’ve got so many clothes on I can hardly move. And I’m still freezing. And the decking out to my office is like an ice rink.

Yes, we have some snow on the Eildons and some on the Gattonside hills behind us. Not much but it looks nice.

And now, live from Scotland for #HillfortsWednesday, the dominating, brooding presence of Eildon Hill North from the fort site of Trimontium - the two other Eildons are behind it, giving Tri-Montium (Three Hills) its name.

One of the best #hillforts near our fantastic @trimontiumtrust.bsky.social museum and #Roman fort site - where we do lots of community archaeology! Great views from all the Eildons too #scottishborders

Yep!

The view from our house is of The Cheviots, but, on a clear day, we can see The Eildons from the end of our road.

My wife had lunch with a friend in Lauder today, so I dropped her off and headed to Lauder Common - found an unexpected Black Grouse. Catastrophically declining in the Moorfoots, surprised to find one here. From the Common, Moorfoots, Lammermuirs, Eildons and Cheviots all visible.

A weekend (tbh kind of driven by my nostalgia for the Melrose hill races) walking the 3 Eildons trail and exploring the Abbey, gardens and excellent Trimontium museum

Although I think you might like it here at other times of the year, we have hills and hares and weird festivals and everything

Happy birthday to #SirWalterScott (1771)! 🎂
Best known as a writer, he was also a #Roman history enthusiast. He linked Trimontium to the Eildons, unearthed Roman finds on his land, & collected Roman artefacts – some still at #Abbotsford today! Pair your visit with the #Trimontium Museum!

It’s Sunday. Grab a seat and relax!

Sir Walter Scott often stopped at this spot at Bemersyde to enjoy the view of his beloved Borders, with the Eildons at their heart.

The Eildons in the Scottish Borders (near where we live).

We've been here for nine years and still haven't been up one yet. (Mostly to do with my many different ailments.)

We went for a walk this afternoon down to the river and across the Chain Bridge across it.

Tomorrow we go over the Eildons (seen in the background) and head south east.
