Scotland’s fishing industry delivers over 60% of the UK’s catch - but Labour thinks we should settle for just 7.78% of funding. 🐟🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There’s a vote in Parliament today.

Will Labour stand up for Scotland’s fisheries, or just stand up for Keir Starmer?

UK Government funding for Scotland’s fishing is an ‘insult’, says minister
Mairi Gougeon’s comments come ahead of a vote in Holyrood on Tuesday to agree that Scotland should receive more cash.

I’m gonna keep sharing these ovarian cancer symptoms whenever I see them.

I will add - from personal experience - diarrhoea and fatigue.

Get it checked! Remember, there’s no routine screening for ovarian cancer.

Meet Arthur, in the loving care of Northumberland Dog Rescue 🧡 His background isn’t known and he isn’t yet ready to receive any adoption inquiries, he needs some time and understanding.

Supporting rescues to do their vital, life saving work is what your donations do. THANK you Schnauzerfesters.

People in Scotland want an asylum system that is controlled, that they have confidence in, and that shows compassion. The Home Secretary’s proposals do none of these things.

We need a humane, effective and efficient system 🧡

Have any of you been watching Sullivan's Crossing?

It's making me want to visit Halifax, Nova Scotia. It looks so gorgeous.

Good morning one and all,

What's on the agenda today?

What a great afternoon for wildlife-spotting.

After lunch, I took Henry and Lily for a walk and I saw two deer, over a hundred fieldfare, a buzzard, two kestrels, and a hare!

My friend's asked me to go to a Christmas Market with her this morning, so I guess I should get out of bed. But, my snoozing Westie besties make it so hard! Henry's under the duvet on my left. Lily's on top of the duvet on my right. I'm the filling in a Westie sandwich - and it's so cosy and warm.

I've been waiting all day for it to be time to get ready for going out, but now it's nearly time, it all seems a bit of an effort.

I wish we'd planned to go out for lunch instead.

If the grouse shooting industry are to be believed, Susie probably stamped her own chicks to death before turning the gun on herself.

Oh well. By a happy coincidence, less hen harriers means more red grouse for the toffs to shoot.

Hen Harrier ‘Susie’, whose chicks were stamped to death in 2022, has been found dead on a North Pennines grouse moor with gunshot injuries
If ever there was an example demonstrating the high level of persecution faced by Hen Harriers on UK grouse moors, the lack of consequences for the offenders, and the lack of justice for the victim…

And this is one of Labour's problems. Such a relatively easy win, especially given the gains the Green party have made under Polanski.
Steve Reed has told Labour MPs to vote down amendment to the new planning bill intended to protect British wildlife and its habitats from destruction.

First Swifts, now hedgehogs and dormice. Nothing is sacred... just betrayals by this govt at every turn

'Nine bodies in a Mexican Morgue' is an intriguing title.

The TV show does not live up to it.

I'm getting reports that a firm is cold calling people "offering grants for renewables and quoting that MARTIN LEWIS had encouraged people to engage with the company."

The call is UTTER BOLLOCKS! This is not true. Don't trust them. Politely disengage and don't speak to them.

Watching Labour MPs take a wrecking ball to nature makes me so angry & so sad. Their action tonight voting down amendments to the #PlanningBill intended to protect wildlife & habitats from destruction is so reckless & so counterproductive. People didn’t vote Labour for this 👇

I have warned ministers that police are acting unlawfully by deploying this intrusive technology with no approval from Parliament.
