I went to a meditation workshop in Melrose today run by the Kadampa Meditation Centre. It was very good - I’m feeling pretty exhausted now. Four hours was quite a bit more intense than my usual yoga meditations. They’re going to be running monthly at the BGH.

These two stories from today’s BBC News app: the story on the left seems like something the police should be spending time investigating. The story on the right less so and possibly more of a mental health issue.

I’m not going to get my hopes up too much but this is the forecast for next Thursday. ❄️

I used to get mouth ulcers a lot before I was diagnosed with coeliac disease. I haven’t had one for ages then have had two bad ones in the last couple of weeks. How can something so small be so ridiculously painful…? 😖

I wonder how many Scots decided to move home from England after Brexit 🤔. I decided to on the morning of the result and the Scottish guy talking to @mrjamesob did too.

Left: The Leaderfoot viaduct over the river Tweed.
Right: a comparison of the beautiful old bridge with the newer road bridge over the Tweed. I know which one I prefer…

It was a very foggy morning. Not much fun driving along the Tweed Valley to Cardrona first thing.

I am really looking forward to reading The Bending Cross, A Biography of Eugene V. Debs by Ray Ginger. Some of Debs’ quotes really resonate today, esp his statement after being convicted of sedition in 1918. www.marxists.org/archive/debs...

@heraldscotland.bsky.social is complaining that Mhairi Black is stealing Scots actors’ jobs. I think it’s her acting debut so that’s just the one job to date. Slow news day I guess? 🙄

It was a driech walk this afternoon. Cold, wet (the river is huge) and pretty much dark already and it’s not even 5pm.

My #cat is so lazy. She hasn’t shifted from my bed all day and is refusing to sit on the blanket I laid out for her.
