Just had haggis from The Haggis Box at Abbotsford. It’s great to get a coeliac-friendly veggie haggis from them as I hadn’t had haggis for years before they started coming round here. Happy Burns Night.

I’m back in Edinburgh again! This time to see The Shawshank Redemption at the Lyceum with my theatre buddy Helen. It was v cold & windy walking back to the station but the castle looked very nice.

I’ve been back in Edinburgh this afternoon meeting friends. It’s always lovely in the rain but I wore the wrong coat so now on the train back absolutely soaked.

I think my copy of the Norton Anthology of English Literature (2578pp) would work quite well too.
Here’s a short poem about the power of poetry to change the world.

Bill Watterson is my favorite cartoonist. I adored the relationship btw Calvin and Hobbes as a child. But as I've gotten older, these strips feel even more tender and insightful. My respect for him grew when I learned of his stance against merchandising. Such principles are almost unheard of today.

It’s a lovely starry sky here tonight. Orion is really bright. I’m always surprised how well my iPhone takes night time pics. Holding my breath so I don’t move for 5 seconds is the hardest bit.
