My son sent me a message from the school bus this morning asking where his coat was. Surely ask me before leaving the house?? 🤷‍♀️

Three years ago I knitted this hat in what I can only describe as a Covid delirium.

I love this picture taken by my friend Mike today. Neidpath Castle in the centre of the pic near Peebles (my home town).

RAF planes from Brize Norton seem to be flying past here a lot at the moment. Not sure if I should be reassured or worried.

It’s frozen here too. I’ve got so many clothes on I can hardly move. And I’m still freezing. And the decking out to my office is like an ice rink.

17th of November and the Christmas discussions have started already. I’ll still be the one choosing the tree…

I know this may be an unpopular opinion but this wee guy is soooo cute! We have lots of mice coming in the house at the moment as we are surrounded by fields & it’s getting really cold. This little one will be taken to the other side of the river & hopefully make a cosy home in the shed over there.

Well, the first half was great. The second half was an absolute disaster. (Flower of Scotland was pretty good as always.)

I’m not sure I’ve ever been as relaxed in my life as my cat is right now trapped in a sunbeam. Unashamedly snoring her head off too.

These two stories from today’s BBC News app: the story on the left seems like something the police should be spending time investigating. The story on the right less so and possibly more of a mental health issue.

I’m not going to get my hopes up too much but this is the forecast for next Thursday. ❄️

I definitely don’t want to go for a swim today…

The river’s in spate. No chance of walking along the path today.

We did the Edinburgh Old Town Murder Mystery Trail by Thursday Murder Pubs today with friends. It was great. I’m exhausted now though.

Left: The Leaderfoot viaduct over the river Tweed.
Right: a comparison of the beautiful old bridge with the newer road bridge over the Tweed. I know which one I prefer…

It was a very foggy morning. Not much fun driving along the Tweed Valley to Cardrona first thing.
November 7, 2025 at 6:38 PM
There were huge flocks of geese flying over the house today. Very chatty too!

@heraldscotland.bsky.social is complaining that Mhairi Black is stealing Scots actors’ jobs. I think it’s her acting debut so that’s just the one job to date. Slow news day I guess? 🙄
