I like the trolley problem but not as a thought experiment. I see it as a critique of us. No-one is questioning who is tying people to the tracks, forcing us to make the choice? Surely, that is the actual problem?! We are content to contend with the fiction, accepting tangible elements as fantasy

Thing is, a lot of communities do have systems to address these things and what that looks like is “The pastor or the church elders tell the wife she needs to be more obedient and pray harder.” I have yet to see a hardcore abolitionist contend with the fact that some communities are pro-abuse.
Look, if your community justice and reconciliation system doesn't have a way to address someone like Ted Bundy and domestic abuse, I'm sorry, but it's not a serious system.
I‘m tired of being nice about this; “abolitionism” has had years to develop a non-idiot policy program and the best they’ve come up with is ”murder without even the pretense of juridical process.” And I am not nut-picking; this is all over abolitionist writing.

Just my 2 cents as the fan running this account, but yes & no. Bears don’t have a ton of cap space. Adding that big of a contract would require some restructuring, which hurts the cap down the road. Only makes sense if a team thinks it can contend in near future. Poles must be of that opinion.
