It feels real weird. I’m Asian American (not Chinese). I get fandom and I don’t have much interest in calling it out, but it still feels skin-crawly given my general life experience.

Pan-Asian Championships would be for all Asian/Aussie/Kiwi skaters. Pan-American Championships would be for USA/Canada/Mexico/skaters from any Latin American country with entries. South Africa could toggle back and forth between the two, or choose which one to go with.

Yep. It is. I would note that I’d happily eat an any restaurant serving Mexican, Somalian, Asian, South American, etc. food despite the thugs. I just would not want to be in a hotel with them where really bad things can happen if you encounter these thugs in a hallway.

I could see a lot of Asian folks not having a ton of American metal vocabulary, especially if they're older. Newer generation would, I would think, be Internet savvy enough to expose themselves to a wide variety, but the world is a big place.

OK, I get your point. As an Asian American though, with multiple college degrees, I feel more supportive of federal government involvement, including DEI and civil rights protection, than I am cynical or suspicious.

There are gangs of many different nationalities here (Asian, Hispanic, Russian, etc.) & not all their members are American citizens. There are homegrown gangs as well. For illegally using unnecessary violence on the most vulnerable targets , ICE is the most dangerous criminal gang in America.
