Massie on Howard Lutnick: "He should just resign. Three people in Great Britain resigned for less than what we've seen Howard Lutnick lie about. He clearly went to the island, if we believe what's in these files. He was in business with Jeffrey Epstein."

McSweeney is out. The longer Starmer stays in power, the bigger the damage for the Labour Party. Mandelson is just one of many symptoms of completely failed leadership and strategic failures empowering and enabling the far right in the UK.

Fallout from Mandelson/Epstein in the UK.

As with May, the last line of the defence for Starmer is his chief of staff. So treat this as a stepping stone, with Starmer's Premiership likely fatally wounded.

One thing that is obvious but worth stating is that McSweeney’s exit doesn’t guarantee that the government’s strategic direction and electoral fortunes will improve. That requires an understanding of what has gone wrong by many people still there. Mandelson is at most a symptom of this.

It’s good that he has finally gone, but will McSweeneyism survive? There really is no point him going if it does not also depart the scene. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
