As Trump and his people continue to brazenly, transparently lie about the murder of Renée Good by their ICE agent in Minneapolis, I’m reminded of my 2017 book Fantasyland. Especially the last chapter, “As Fantasyland Goes, So Goes the Nation,” and this passage from near the end.

A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

I have seen more hate toward women spewed by men in the last 48 hours than I have seen in my lifetime. I don't know of a woman who wants a "macho man" who acts like a caveman.

Do better. Be better. Hell, "Be best"...whatever it takes to end this madness.

After an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Good in Minneapolis this week, firing his weapon as she attempted to drive away, many are wondering: Can that officer be taken to court? According to lawyers, absolutely.

"It is essentially a garden-variety, unjustified use of deadly force case."
Misconduct expert says state has the right to charge ICE officer who killed Renee Good
Alas, the FBI's takeover of the investigation could make it difficult.

This is very good from WaPo. Note position of officer's feet to side of car when first shot is fired. I think everyone defending this should be asked: Was it not even an *overreaction* to fire those shots, especially 2 & 3, into her face point-blank with the officer clearly not in danger? Really?

This is absolutely what happened.
He didn't shoot her in the head at point blank range because he felt like he was in danger. He shot her in the head at point blank range because he was furious that she wasn't afraid of him. He shot her in the head at point blank range because he felt emasculated.

Masked government agents are killing people in the streets, abducting people from their homes in the middle of the night, and arresting those who speak out.

If this were happening in another country, what would you call it?

I’ve been saying this over & over. We had ROE’s that stated:

‘Nobody fires unless fired upon’

That would’ve been a War Crime in all Combat zones in which I’ve served. 🤨

It’s hard to know if people outside MN understand how much of life is grinding to a halt here because of Trump’s occupation. Schools have shut down, businesses are scaling back hours or closing because their employees aren’t safe. The whole city is weighted down.

In America you drop your kid off at school, get your brains blown out on the ride home, then the Vice President drops everything for a week to call you a terrorist, to slander your family, to protect the circumstances that led to your death so they can do it again. It is government by Alex Jones.

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.
