Periodic reminder that every day is STFU Friday

Also, sharing the location of cops in the public performance of their jobs is ironclad First Amendment-protected expression

If you're concerned something you've said has you on the Government's radar, call your lawyer instead of posting through it
I joined Twitter to follow this account about nine years ago.

This is disturbing.

Seems like a good day to remind everyone that Auschwitz — a complex of over 40 concentration and extermination camps — was not located in Nazi Germany either.

12 Dem Senators and 48 Dem House members voted for the Laken Riley Act—allowing US Govt to deport immigrants on the mere accusation of a crime.

As you see those 60 Dems complain about Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk, or Kilmar Abrego Garcia, among many more—please know they enabled this fascism.

Well, that's it folks. The most saccharine thing to have ever happened to me happened tonight. 😭❤️

Me: "Do you have everything you need?"

My 3yo: *pauses* *considers* *nods* *hugs* "Yes. I have you."

i know there’s bigger fish to fry but i think “deport elon musk” is bad messaging that should stop because it only validates the use of state violence against political foes rather than building material support for those facing/who will soon face that state violence.

If you need to do this much throat clearing before you can manage to say "Kidnapping people for political speech is very bad, actually" then it's time to step back, have a lozenge, and cede leadership to someone more suited to the moment.
Jesus what an absolutely useless party.

Stupid and Evil will continue to beat stupid and useless.

You aren't persecuted when people don't like you for your shitty beliefs.

It's not hard to be good.
Interesting story that gets to the heart of why many Christians feel persecuted in the U.S.: The secular elite find many of their views abhorrent and uncouth

May you have the life you deserve, Moskowitz
Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) says "I support this administration" regarding Mahmoud Khalil.

"If you‘re here on a tourist visa and you‘re going to Hamas rally, then yeah, you probably shouldn‘t be here anymore. You should get due process in this country, but you probably shouldn‘t be here anymore."

SCOOP: The US Dept. of Education and GOP Rep. Dan Crenshaw will each recognize "DeTrans Awareness Day" tomorrow with events featuring anti-trans activists.

In lieu of a press release, I’m told the Dept. event will be covered exclusively by a reporter from The Federalist.
GOP will observe “DeTrans Awareness Day” with multiple events Wednesday
Rep. Dan Crenshaw and the Dept. of Education are leading the charge.

“Oh, what does fart mean?”

“It’s when you fall down in the snow.”

The other day my son randomly asked, "what if Christopher Robin took parts of all the animals and sewed them together and made the god of the 100 acre woods" and I have not been able to stop thinking about it.

The media is failing abjectly in how it is framing what this administration is doing.
Has congress passed a law superseding or eliminating the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961?

Has the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional?

Then why are journalists reporting that Trump and Musk are "shutting down" USAID. They are not authorized to do so.

4yo wrote a letter to a classmate and stole a financial firm envelope from the recycle bin "to mail it in". It's a folded up page full of red crayon scribbles, but in the middle of the page in blue marker, it says, "MESSAGE".

Reading about the shortage of firefighters in LA and already seeing help from as far as Canada makes me think about the countless times fire crews have come here from all over the world to support us. (& we have sent ours in return!) As climate emergencies increase...it's harder to spare personnel.

I've harped on this before, but "availability of home insurance" will keep growing as a political issue, and a whole lot of people's brains are not equipped to handle it. Insurers aren't doing stuff like this (nor leaving markets outright) for fun. Climate change is making stuff uninsurable.

what if I told you there was this annual amount you could pay every march that would cover this
“Will pay any amount.”

Feels like one of those futile pleas we’re going to hear from wealthy people more and more in the era of climate change.

The emergence of extreme wintertime wildfires in California is one of those classic “this is climate change” moments: A specific set of weather conditions is now occurring in such a way to produce the potential for rare disasters to become much more common.

The horrifying L.A. wildfires are being fueled by the worst conditions January has ever seen
Southern California is experiencing a midwinter drought at the same time as dangerous Santa Ana winds, leading to a wildfire in the Pacific Palisades.

PSA to my friends in California near the fires: breathing in wildfire smoke is really bad for you (even if it’s not super thick where you are) but if you have face masks (N95, KN95, etc) those can help a lot
