Glinda spent the whole second movie trying to get her friend to give up her fight against injustice, because she liked being liked. Great songs. Terrible character.

“Ronaldo’s presence in the White House is unsettling but hardly surprising, given that the Trump administration is overflowing with men who have been accused of assault, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr., and Trump”

Sharing the video of this because it’s such a ghoulish thing to say that I’m honestly in disbelief that I even heard her properly

The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

Well, it’s gotten her a big book deal and a Vanity Fair job. We find it repulsive but she’s being rewarded for it, and the other journalists are finding ways to make what she did seem cool and transgressive instead of disqualifying.
I personally would never want to become famous as “the woman who slept with a geriatric racist with a brain worm” but to each their own I guess

Infantino has to go. He’s sold the game to cozy up to Trump and whatever dictator pats him on the head. Somehow makes Blatter look like a man of courage.

Ronaldo who has stayed from US since 2017 now set to get red carpet treatment: White House visit with Donald Trump on day when paymaster Saudi Arabia and its leader Mohammed bin Salman also meeting Trump at Oval. Vivid Ronaldo's relationship with Saudi extends well beyond football.

Trump is so good at gathering all the worst people together
Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to attend a meeting at the White House, on a day when U.S. President Donald Trump is set to host the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman in the Oval Office, multiple sources have confirmed to The Athletic.

It feels like racism for liberals is seen like an edgy / unfortunate opinion. Especially when it comes to the media and literary world. It might have been Malcolm Harris who said that bigotry is disqualifying on a foundational level, which I agreed with. I can’t take the person seriously after.

Stepping back from these policies and getting rid of McSweeney would not be enough.

Under Starmer's leadership, the government has eagerly embraced cruelty and racism as its animating energy.

This is disgusting and unforgivable and he, as the leader, has disgraced himself and the Labour party.

She ran as a moderate. Maybe you think that’s good and maybe you think that’s bad. All I am arguing is that the endless takes about how Democrats should pivot to the center should explain why it didn’t work in this election (there are good reasons!) rather than pretending she didn’t.

Unfortunately, Tom was so right
All logic is saying Hungary ease to the playoffs today. They're fundamentally better than Ireland, tactically and technically, and have showed that throughout qualification, but Ireland are Ireland and it's really annoying. Early goal and I think Hungary wilt under the pressure and Ireland win 2-0

A lot of the (often quite powerful!) guys emailing Epstein were asking him for dating advice, which seems to suggest that they saw his own sex life as aspirational.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.
