The Barbed Wire conducted an in-depth review of court records and statements thus far in the July 4 Prairieland case in which 17 people have been charged related to a shooting at an ICE facility — and found holes that call into question the government’s narrative.

It is increasingly clear that western governments are invested in Israel—politically, economically and militarily—because its hypermilitarised culture, murderous border regime and complex latticework of internally segregated citizenship are the model they aspire to as the response to climate crisis.
I don’t think Germany’s staunch support of Israel is merely ideological or rooted in post-WW2 guilt. I think it is largely strategic. I think it is planning for a world where Germany wishes to suppress or expel much of its non-white population. The Nazis are at 25% in the polls, for goodness’ sake.
Germany’s huge cuts to the sectors providing migration services while pumping huge money into its military points to a fundamental reshaping of German society. A hard-edged future where security is valued over community. Migrants (non-white, obviously) are mere threats to be policed and controlled.

“Studies of the past tell us that nitpicking the particular semantics of the term ‘concentration camp’ as they pertain to a place the government is actively sending people with no criminal history is highly associated with national stability,” said historian Kristen Boyd

Historians: Quibbling Over Exact Definition Of Concentration Camp Sign Of Healthy Society
NEW HAVEN, CT—Calling such concern for linguistic precision a clear indicator of a thriving country, a panel of historians from Yale University issued a statement Thursday announcing that quibbling over the exact definition of a concentration camp was a sign of a healthy society. “Studies of the past tell us that nitpicking the particular semantics […]

NEW: In a landmark ruling, Michigan's supreme court has struck down mandatory life without parole sentences for youth up to age 21.

What this means: Nearly 600 Michiganders who expected to die in prison will now get a shot at a different outcome.

I took a few days to write about what's next:
Another State Restricts Life Sentences for Young Adults - Bolts
Michigan’s supreme court created new protections against life sentences for people up to 20, pushing the line for who gets second chances beyond age 18.

You came up with a nice way to rank websites three decades ago that you don't even use anymore. There's no reason you should get to order people around, to determine meager schedules for family and leisure. In a world with a decent wealth cap, your opinions would be as useless and ignored as mine.

Aside from the obvious direct harm, what's so irritating is that a handful of spoiled ignorant assholes are breaking things that we all built together. They weren't content to own almost everything, they had to wreck what little they didn't own. It's vandalism on a mass scale and has to be punished
