ASU’s Sol supercomputer is now the 438th fastest and 90th greenest supercomputer on Earth! This was made possible by @thediymaker.bsky.social and Alex Chiquete’s hard work to create power monitors, and @thejburks.bsky.social’s warewulf reimage of Sol, gaining another 5% performance!

plasticlist.com results dropped. While the number of samples per item is low and the variance and statistical uncertainty are high, endocrine disrupting phthalates seem present in our foods. Also learned that RX bars are wrapped in ExxonMobil’s UBW-ES, an oriented polypropylene (OPP) film.

I must admit I've resisted the change in platform because of the mental tax in rebuilding my HPC follows & feeds from the "ex-bird." Finally able to invest the time in rebuilding and grateful for folks like @hpcprogrammer.bsky.social for helping bridge the gap. 😁 It was great catching up at #SC24. 💟

Visited the Frank Lloyd Wright Taliesin West property this afternoon, which included the drafting room where the design for the Guggenheim was conceived. Absolutely stunning use of light, space, and structure that fit perfectly into the desert hillside.

![The National Tsunami Warning Center canceled the warning in a bulletin around 11:55 a.m., noting that no tsunami observations were reported and no danger exists for the West Coast. Still, the bulletin advised not to reenter hazard zones until local emergency officials say it is safe to do so.
Shaking from the large quake, which struck at 10:44 a.m., was felt across Northern California and the Bay Area, and it triggered early warning alerts on cellphones. It was followed minutes later by a magnitude 5.8 temblor in northern Sonoma County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The National Weather Service had issued a tsunami warning after the earthquake, covering the Bay Area and other coastal areas stretching from Santa Cruz County to Oregon.

Emergency alerts blared on cellphones across Northern California, and officials rushed to order evacuations for coastal areas in the tsunami risk zone, including West Berkeley and parts of Del Norte County.
