Hey quantum bsky!

Does any have any experience with becoming a Trusted Reviewer for Springer? Seems like the commitment is quite high for getting that title; you need to review one paper a month for them.

Interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on this.

I find myself in a barren plateaud landscape.

I've used Monument Valley so much as an analogy for BPs, that I figured I should finally pay this beautiful place a visit!

I am so, so happy to see this article published as a perspective in Nature Communications:

www.nature.com/articles/s41...

More than the paper itself, I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with all my co-authors on the implications of the absence of BPs ~ classical simulability connection
Does provable absence of barren plateaus imply classical simulability? - Nature Communications
There has been growing evidence that strategies to circumvent the barren plateau problem in variational quantum computing might also kill potential quantum advantages. In this Perspective, the authors...

We recently posted 2 works on quantum resource theories: arxiv.org/abs/2506.19696, arxiv.org/abs/2507.10851

👂Huh? Yall want more? We got you covered with a NEW work

Analyzing the free states of one quantum resource theory as resource states of another

arxiv.org/abs/2507.11793
Characterizing quantum resourcefulness via group-Fourier decompositions
In this work we present a general framework for studying the resourcefulness in pure states for quantum resource theories (QRTs) whose free operations arise from the unitary representation of a group....

I am incredibly excited by this paper!

We believe it opens up some interesting new directions to study resource non-increasing channels in quantum resource theories!

So What Do We Know QC To Be Good For?
- Simulating quantum physics and chemistry
- Breaking current public-key encryption (RSA, DH, ECC)
- Eventually, modest (square-root) speedups from Grover
- We’ll have to get lucky for most other applications!
(The world has been systemically lied to about this)

🚨Excited to share our new paper "Characterizing quantum resourcefulness via group-Fourier decompositions" from last year's LANL Quantum Computing summer School📘 arxiv.org/abs/2506.19696 !

I will be in Madrid in Sept 15 to 19th for the Entangle This VI Conference!

Given that I'll be traveling across the pond I'd love to take that opportunity to visit some other local group in Spain!

Let me know if you're interested and I can plan a trip :)

🚨Question to jumpstart 2025🚨

Will variational quantum algorithms / quantum machine learning provide any form of quantum utility (either exponential/polynomial advantage, in NISQ/FTQC, etc)?

👉Please, elaborate in the comments/provide citations! I really want this discussion!!

1️⃣ Yes
2️⃣ No
3️⃣ Maybe
