Norman & Tyler: 25 Essential 21st Century LPs (part four)
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Wilco. Norman: My first pretentious pick was Radiohead’s Kid A. My second is Wilco’s Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. The best way to describe the music on thi…

@billtwibh.bsky.social So many Wings tracks, those unmistakable Paul/Linda/Denny three-part harmonies, would be fascinating to hear reimagined by Folds/Jessee/Sledge. “Jet” divided by “Kate” could be fabulous

Flown in from Threads because it warms my heart. Liam & Noel. Over the course of the last year, Peter & I have dipped into what really boosts our hearts about this band; I hope our work has expressed this musical adoration in a manner that connects with you all, our mega readers. Love y’all.

Something exceptional about watching a local news team’s banter collapse in action. Weatherman’s referencing Seinfeld, his three compatriots are leaving him hanging—choice

It cannot be said enough, nearly every Democrat who listens to Carville loses, and nearly every Democrat who does what he's against wins. We just had an overwhelming demonstration of that a couple weeks ago. Put this zombie out to pasture already. He's useless.
The article is called "Out With Woke". He specifically calls for sacrificing all marginalized communities upon the altar of the revered white male. Is that how desperate liberals have gotten for any sort of hollow "win"?

This is identical to Russia invading Ukraine. Illegally invading a country for their resources and likely killing thousands—if not more—is immoral and should not be supported by anyone with any shred of moral conscience.

Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

They're past self-parody at this point. Just, FFS.
Utterly ludicrous framing from @nytimes.com here, treating Pete Hegseth's arguments as if they're legitimate. The casual reader will be left with no inkling whatsoever of how unusual and corrupt an abuse of the process this truly is:

I swore an oath to the Constitution in 1986. I've upheld it through 25 years of service and every day since I retired.

If Trump's trying to intimidate me, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to our country to be silenced by bullies who care more about power than the Constitution.

No Hanukkah items at Target, World Market, Kroger, or even Walmart. Oh, but yeah, America is totally okay with non-Christian faiths

If you’re a journalist who’s still on Twitter, from now on in your writing you have to replace “the American people want” with “troll bots in Eastern Europe demand”

Being there makes your judgment suspect. I don’t care how savvy you think you are, you’re marinating in a disinformation campaign.

Tart looks fab. In turn, I heartily endorse this recipe, a sweet potato concoction from, of all sources, Pillsbury. Haven’t made it in a few years, but the last time was in an instant pot, the slow-cooker setting not quite high enough, so the dish was finished with a quick pressure cook. Good stuff.

This. To say nothing of the destroyed careers and livelihoods, the abandoned research, and the probably irreparable trust defect for anyone who *might* have been contemplating a career in public service. Please, stop with the DOGE failure narratives.
DOGE did everything they were supposed to do and have already killed almost 700,000 people including 430,000 children, as intended. DOGE is one of the most successful anti-democracy, mass-murder campaigns we've ever seen, and we will be dealing with the consequences of their success for generations.
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
