Republicans claim they're being expected to have warrants for every arrest when the demand is warrants to enter private property.
Republicans claim it's about showing photo ID to vote when they're actually trying to set much tougher restrictions.
Republicans lie about everything. It's all they do.

"whether approved by Congress or not"

Buddy, that's not how anything works, and you can't even spell "Legal Arguments" without help. Someone tuck granpa in. He's up past his bedtime again.
Trump: “The Democrats refuse to vote for Voter I.D., or Citizenship. The reason is very simple — They want to continue to cheat in Elections. This was not what our Founders desired … There will be Voter I.D. for the Midterm Elections, whether approved by Congress or not!“

I need folks to understand this. The idea that local police forces will intervene at scale against ICE is a utopian fantasy totally disconnected from how policing has always worked
Police departments across the US are quietly leveraging school district security cameras to assist Donald Trump’s mass immigration enforcement campaign, an investigation by @the74.bsky.social reveals.

Posting about ICE on Instagram is now enough to get you an “administrative subpoena.” 👀

There seems to be a lot of discussion about Gavin Newsom today.

I wanted to re-share this piece that I wrote, because I have a lot of center-to-left Dems that follow me that want to understand.

There are very good reasons transgender people do not like Gavin Newsom.

Not only did Trump lose the 2016 popular vote by nearly 3 million votes, once he was in office he launched a massive "voter fraud" investigation to prove that he'd *actually* won the popular vote by several million and then they didn't find a thing and quietly disbanded it.

NEW: DHS Secretary Kristi Noem joined election deniers in Arizona to rally support for a suppressive bill that would disenfranchise millions.

Noem also encouraged state election officials to use the department’s citizenship verification program, despite it incorrectly flagging dozens of citizens.

Just the most immature, insecure, useless POS to ever hold high office in a very long time. I'm pretty sure you have to go back to some of the worst kings to find valid comparisons.

Saying the Epstein files are proof of a secret Jewish cabal controlling the world, instead of simply proof Epstein and his cohort were horrible, is antisemetic and shitty. Also don't engage with the larger truths those files are revealing about society and power. Leave Jewish people out of this.
You really don’t need to be antisemetic about Epstein.
He’s evil because he’s evil. Not because he’s Jewish.

Mike Lee knows this is the answer, but he is the epitome of bad faith evil and doesn't care. It is a documented fact that ICE is not confining themselves to only known immigration issues, and that would have a chilling effect on people trying to vote.
Because lawless ICE goons are harassing, arresting, and murdering people who are citizens, you idiot.

This thread is just infuriating.

Assuming the loyal footsoldiers signing the forms shuffling detainees around to avoid habeas petitions are probably too low on the hierarchy to get pardons, I wonder if post-Trump it might be possible to go after them with a 'Conspiracy against Rights' charge.
I don’t really know what I expect in posting this, but maybe some people see it and can learn from it.

I’ll call it “lessons from an unwilling immigration attorney.”

One of the most fascinating aspects of the America Crisis is how under Trump much of the US Homeland security apparatus seems to understand places like Minnesota or Maine as little as the US National security apparatus under Bush understood places like Anbar or Herat

This is an important point. Same thing for ICE surrounding polling places – they don’t really need to, they just need to sow enough fear.
New in PN: The Fulton County raid is part of Trump's total war on voting

"The SAVE Act is not expected to pass the Senate, but in some ways, it doesn’t really need to. It's already served the same purpose as the raid: undermining confidence in elections by amplifying debunked lies about fraud."

Thank you for that vote of confidence! I have spoken about my love of the LoSH to various and sundry editors. No bites yet, but hope always springs eternal.
I wanted to say that I would like to see you work on a regular series run of the Legion of Super-Heroes. I think that could be really fun to read and possibly a great way to market the book as appealing to young adult fans while maintaining it’s solid footprint in the mainline DC Universe.
