Among anticipated changes to a new visitor brochure for the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Home National Monument is no longer using "racist" to describe the killer of the civil rights leader.

"Sure, ICE is bad, but we need to deport illegal immigrants"

No you don't.

If immigration enforcement leads to concentration camps and roving death squads, maybe it's time to just get rid of the concept of illegal immigration entirely. You've tried it, it's a bad idea in practice, so bin it.

Yet another blatantly impeachable offense that the people in charge will pretend is no big deal.
The Trump administration asked Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for the Washington region’s Dulles International Airport and New York’s Penn Station to be named after Trump in exchange for releasing the federal funds required to build a long-delayed tunnel between New York and New Jersey
Trump wanted Dulles Airport, Penn Station named after him — in exchange for releasing federal funds

THIS. As one of those political folks who said Trump was not elected because “economic anxiety” but racism

I won’t forgive the many media folks & pundits who insisted that he would “pivot” from his “rhetoric”

That we were “overreacting” to his election

Straight gaslit even by many white Dems
Pour one out for every professional political pundit, writer, consultant whatever that has spent the last decade trying to pretend that the Trump phenomenon was about trade or opiates and not a big chunk of white america losing its mind over having a black president bsky.app/profile/kyle...

There is clarity in second-term Trump increasingly confessing that many items on his to-do list—demanding tribute from universities, especially Harvard; claiming he might “take” Greenland; declaring he won an election that he knows he lost—are nothing more than efforts to boost his wounded ego.
Trump at National Prayer Breakfast: "They rigged the second election. I had to win it. I needed it for my own ego. I would've had a bad ego for the rest of my life. Now I really have a big ego. Beating these lunatics was incredible ... The first time they said I didn't win the popular vote. I did"

Shut it down. The right has gone power mad and will not engage in good faith, so stop pretending they might. Just shut it all down and make them explain why one of the least popular federal actions ever was a good reason to dig in.
CNBC's Rebecca Quick and Joe Kernen brought Chris Coons on this morning so they could team up to berate him about how terrible they think the an idea shutting down the government again is, as though Democrats would be entirely to blame and ICE is just normal law enforcement
February 6, 2026 at 3:04 PM
Actually, it does. Every person in Congress has the right to vote their own way, regardless of who won the election, and, if the result of that vote shuts down the govt, they are within their rights. "We won the election" is not and never has been a blank check.
COONS: Joe, it's same rules NYPD follows. Do you see roving bands of NYPD w/ masks using bear spray on people?

KERNEN: You lost the election! That doesn't give you right to shut down govt

C: I have to fight for the core value of our democracy, including law enforcement that doesn't murder citizens

Trump shut down the Kennedy Center out of pure embarrassment after the cancellations.

He’s betting we forget in two years.

In 2023 the Kennedy Center was in the black, pulling in $286M in revenue. And it reopened from a $250M renovation in 2019.

I’m on the scene at Franklin and 1st. A convoy of about a couple dozen ICE/HSI agents broke the entryway into an apartment building at 6am. No warrant presented. Less than 24 hours ago, Tom Homan announced the end of large convoys in Minnesota… Bullshit.
