Really not sure why people keep saying this when it's absurdly obvious that every single nation on earth existed without controlled borders prior to the 20th century. Controlled borders have just not been a thing for all but a blip of human existence.

It is new to them, though, and why does that matter? They clearly weren't boycotting before and they are now. It has never been true that everyone arrives at the protest for the same reasons, and probably never will be.

The people who mock you for talking about the existing legal options, no matter how remote, while offering no solutions of their own are not your friends, actually, and they're not helping. The existing anti-establishment voices might be too entrenched in their "nothing works" mentality.

This is something that far too many people struggle with. You can have any opinion you want, but being an opinion doesn't stop it from being wrong. Someone pointing out that you're wrong isn't stopping you from having an opinion. "That's my opinion" isn't the shield some people think it is.
