I emailed both companies and pointed this out to them. I also suggested that public backlash will make the Jimmy Kimmel response look measured.

Both @warren.senate.gov and @moulton.house.gov serve on the Armed Services Committees for their respective Congressional chambers.

I urge them both to rally their colleagues to strongly oppose Hegseth’s threat to deploy the Marines to LA & this kind of rhetoric from Johnson.
JON KARL: Could we really see active duty Marines on the streets of LA?

MIKE JOHNSON: One of our core principles is maintaining peace through strength. We do that on foreign affairs and domestic affairs as well. I don't think that's heavy handed.

look, the “cure” for the completely made-up male loneliness epidemic is simply more disposable income and more free time…better pay for less work is the only answer to being able to hang out more, which is why the ceos are instead blaming “woke” and offering us robot friends

if we had an effective dem party, starting 8:30-9 this am, every dem on capitol hill would be on this story. they'd be calling for hegseth and waltz and the rest to resign, theyd be calling on trump to come clean with the people about what else they leaked. they'd be pushing for investigations etc

About to have a real time test of the media

If this kind of breach happened under Biden, it would be *the* story for days

No high-ranking official — especially the president — could make public appearances without facing tough questions

Let’s see if that happens now

I can't get over the fact that "voters who are educated & attuned to current events vote for Dems" has become one of the central *critiques* of the Dem Party.
Another massive shift Democrats saw in 2024 is that people who don't follow the news closely went from being slightly left in 2020 to voting for Trump by double digits.

On the flipside, Democrats actually increased their margins with high-information voters from 2020.

Russia's real power isn't its incompetent army, its Mickey Mouse economy, or its oversized and impractical territory.
Russia's real power is the power to brainwash powerful idiots in the West into saving Russia from the costs of its criminality and recklessness over, and over, and over again.
It kills me that everything Ukraine did worked with incredible ingenuity, against impossible odds, and yet in the end it was a pitiful election in the United States that sabotaged them, and the history books will claim that you cannot defeat a large empire by doing what they did.

But you can.
