a lot of people are speculating that these guys are gay and I don't think that's right. I think it's more accurate to see what's happening as them creating a game of heterosexuality, and being mad when the reality of dating does not confirm to that expectation
strikes me as unfathomably sad and self-defeating to believe you cannot be friends with the opposite sex

I kind of wish that you could do feminism in the modern day without caring about fandom, but given the centrality of consumerist sociality to online life, as well as fandom being the sum of many people's engagement with "feminist" concepts, it's kind of impossible to ignore.
