thank you to the random redditor from 2 years ago who had the exact same tech/hard drive issue as me, and posted the solution instead of "nvm figured it out".

Thank you random stranger, I would like to give you ONE LARGE HUG, you have saved the day! 🎉💖

The move to "everything is USB-C" is a boon.

My work laptop is USB-C so I can just carry my phone charger to work and it charges my laptop, phone, earphones and Kindle.

Haha, for all its simplicity, this Weverse post is really silly and chaotic. Very Kim Seokjin. The narrative case thing made me laugh out loud.

Oh hey, Korea Times kinda posted a translation on Insta. Interesting that they dropped 지분대다 from the translation - that was challenging to communicate.

I wish we had native Korean speaking translators on 🦋. Pretty sure all the translations I've seen have been non-native speaker translations.

the entire nation is experiencing what happens when the vast majority of people running the country cannot even remember the last time they had to work for a living
Practicality aside from the lunacy of it all, they're just dumping how many thousands of people into the job market.

Democrats don't seem to understand how bad the aftershocks from that are going to be and it's baffling.

Learned 뻘소리 and 뻘 짓다 today. Which basically means bullshit. One of my language exchange partners is quite a colorful fella.

무슨 뻘소리야?
What the hell does that even mean?/What bullshit is this?

뻘 짓지 마
Don't waste my time./Stop BS'ing around.

I don’t necessarily recommend jumping into full on world events, but entertainment and human interest stories are, imo, not bad to start if you want to dip toes into or transition into harder stuff!

I need to put this out there. There is no monomyth. The "hero's journey" is not a universal thing, and never was. Its creation relied on cherry picked stories and ignoring everything in them and any context about them or the cultures they were from to work. It was literature level colonialism. 1/4

During the Korean War, Will Eisner was hired by the US government because they learned that comics were the most immediate way to learn technical information.

They absolutely are.

There's a Korean soap opera on Netflix (When the Stars Gossip) which has *Drosophila courtship in space* as a major plot point (Ep 2). They have Michael Reiser & lab's flight arenas (you can see Janelia & MIchael's initials on the panels). Great way to learn about Drosophila courtship!

Okay. There isn't a Korean equivalent to boypaper that my teacher knew but she was super delighted to learn the English word. And then pointed to my Yoongi pc in my phone case and went "excellent boypaper, yes? Is that how I would use that word?" and I am just charmed.
