In my experience, the death of the living room started back in the '80s, especially with the middle-class, when a conflation between "living room" and "drawing room", when it became a semi-formal space for official events and ceased being a place for "fun". 1/3

THIS. So much this! AI isn't opening doors for creativity, it's setting up a pay to play system. And part of it is building a narrative that real, living artists are "gatekeeping" art to vilify us. The only people that want to gatekeep art are the AI companies that want your cash.
It’s a bit funny to me when folks accuse anti-AI artists of “gatekeeping.” My dude, Midjourney charges you $60 a month for images, while real artists remind you that you can make it for free and experience the joy of the process. So who’s really gatekeeping?

Got my GTA V Online character migration to the Enhanced edition sorted out last night and DAMN. It is good to be rolling through Los Santos again.
Upgraded my writing laptop with 8Gb of RAM (now at a healthy 16Gb) and the performance difference is notable. The i3 processor actually has legs now and all the research tabs aren't slowing everything else down! Best part? Literally the only single stick of 8Gb DDR4 they had left in stock! 1/2

1. They are champions at talking the talk, but then quietly passing laws and enshrining problematic behaviours/practices as "normal" so they seldom (if ever) have to walk the walk.
2. They have minimal cognitive dissonance when... 1/2

Don't get me wrong, Judge Dredd is a great series, but the original run of Rogue Trooper? Better story, tighter plotlines, and goddamn was the political commentary scathing.
