I found this Desmostylus second molar on a hike. It's now on display at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History at the University of Oregon. Have you ever found a cool fossil? I definitely want to hear about it.

Took a hike after work today and found a dead whale. I think it was a humpback. Yes, I reported it. 2025 remains in a state of complete fuckery.

When I was a girl there were so many of these terrible pretend rules about what we should and shouldn't do. I wish I had a time machine so I could go back and tell little girl me that she would be cutting up rocks, and looking inside them. 💚

The porpoise vertebrae that I've been working on with a mild acid prep have been producing unusually colorful aragonite crystals. These were taken outdoors with no filter of any kind. I have 2 prior posts if you care to check out the progress.
