“Put bluntly, net migration fell because 400,000 fewer foreigners arrived, and 200,000 more foreigners left the UK. This is precisely what Reform, the Mail, and the new, nastier Tory Party have claimed – again and again – they wanted to happen. And now that it has, they have ignored it entirely.”
The crazy right will never be satisfied about migration
Keir Starmer slashed net migration as the Mail and Farage demanded - and still got hammered for it

1. The European Parliament’s attempt to ban plant-based foods from being sold as “sausages”, “burgers” etc is a direct response to livestock industry lobbying. This is a short thread on how utterly bleeding ridiculous it is. 🧵1/6

Jury trials in England & Wales for crimes that carry a likely sentence of less than 3 years will be scrapped.

Bad move

Money may be saved but justice and trust in the system will be the biggest casualty.

End the scam. Nationalise water.

If its acceptable for a Sky News presenter to give their opinion on the heads of regimes, I can't wait to hear what Ridge thinks about the head of the genocidal apartheid regime in Israel.

Reform’s mission statement:

“Conservatives have failed and Labour will fail too…
We are ruled by an out of touch political class who have turned their backs on our country.
Reform is the alternative”

Where ‘alternative’ = exactly the same stitch-up and failure inflicted by the same wealthy elite.

Funny how @zackpolanski.bsky.social suggesting a raft of policies to try and improve the lives of the vast majority is ‘fantasy economics’, but when Brexiteers were allowed to indulge their lunatic fantasies about leaving the EU it somehow became ‘The Will of the People’. 🦄🤔

UK budget Effects:

Economy to grow by 1.5% this year, down from 1.9%.
Productivity to rise by 1%, down from 1.3%.
Disposable income could rise by 0.5% a year.

Can't get economic growth when 24m people can't attain minimum living standard.

1% have more wealth than 70% of the population combined.
The government’s budget is simply managing decline
The budget does little to improve living standards or facilitate sustained economic growth

Farage rarely turned up to vote when he was an MEP.

But, he did turn up to vote against the EU’s anti-Russia interference motion.

He said it was a “hoax”.

He voted against strengthening Europe’s defences against foreign interference.

Why?

He should know. When he was in Government he took a five-figure donation from JCB, then stayed silent when it axed hundreds of his constituents' jobs just two weeks later
