Even the architect Trump hired to build his massive addition to the White House objects to the president's vision. The two have argued about the size of the 90,000-sq-foot project that would dwarf the mansion. @jonathanreports.bsky.social @ddiamond.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Trump wants a bigger White House ballroom. His architect disagrees.
The president and James McCrery had argued in recent weeks over the project’s size, with Trump pushing him to expand the ballroom.

The misogynistic fucks in the admin are trying to make it so that grad school certifications in female-dominated professions (nursing, therapy, education) no longer count as “professional degrees” & you can’t get loans to go to grad school.
The DoE has reclassified numerous health professional and other degrees, limiting access to federal student loan programs eligible for the higher OBBBA loan caps from thousands to a few hundred.

As ALWAYS, this is about $$.

We're about to become REALLY "great"...

AP is banned by Trump from WH pool, while this is happening:
Right-wing YouTuber Tim Pool has made it to the White House pool — someone from his “Timcast” channel will be part of today’s pool duty covering the president.

Last year, DOJ revealed Pool was receiving millions of dollars from the Russian gov. Pool says he didn’t know where it was coming from.

The United States of America has become a kleptocracy.
WSJ says Twitter is telling advertisers to spend more with them “or else” — “They are afraid of the legal/political ramifications of not doing so.”

Hobby: designing and building an all-sky camera for astronomy. During the day, the exposures are much shorter, so you can catch faster events. Because the focus is set for the sky, things up close are out of focus, but you can see in this shot a snowflake that was caught at just the right time 🙂

Rumors are swirling that you’re spending $40 million on Super Bowl ads targeting USAID. If there were truly fraud, wouldn’t you not need to spend millions trying to convince people?

Losing NOAA would be devastating. Project 2025 authors want to get rid of it because it monitors climate change, and privatize the information it currently provides for free, so you'll have to buy information about the weather and the winds (imperative for mariners).

Just to clear up any Trump world fantasy that Donald Trump has a mandate, his current approval rating of 47% is the second lowest of any new president in modern history.

The lowest was Trump in his first term.

the entire "pivot to video" strategy that destroyed many of the sites you used to love was based on Facebook lying about video metrics, convincing everyone that was the only way their content was getting shared

they half-heartedly "apologized" for this years later, leaving burning wreckage behind
As a reminder, Facebook had a giant hand in the death of online journalism in the mid 2010s because they inflated metrics that caused publications to crash and burn. Many of us haven't trusted it in a long, long time.
