Today, I talked to a closeted young evangelical whose day job is to make life miserable for LGBTQIA+ folks.

I hope that she discovers the Jesus who hung out with lepers & prostitutes - the Jesus who commanded his followers to accept those of a different gender / sexual orientation (eunuchs).
DOJ won’t rest until every parent & doctor of a trans kid is in jail.
NEW: On Friday, DOJ filed a notice that it is appealing its loss in the challenge to its invasive trans care subpoena issued to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Despite losing every challenge to the invasive subpoenas, DOJ keeps appealing.

Here is Friday, and no Insurrection Act, no strike on Iran. Shooting in Minneapolis, but not full live fire assault. It has been an *awful* week, of deep and terrible losses and suffering. But fascism didn’t take as much ground as it wanted and threatened.

Every single blue state needs this law.
ICE is not above the law. That’s why I introduced the No Kings Act, a bill that lets Californians sue federal agents when they violate your constitutional rights.

It just passed the Senate Judiciary Committee 8–2. Accountability soon.

ICE/CBP is following school busses now.

My husband (a school bus driver) was just in an urgent all-hands meeting about it this afternoon.

I’m in this, too, with a bunch of other “organized gangs of wine moms.”

Online virtual screening is 2/5/26!
I’m honored to have been able to be part of this documentary that follows some of my favorite moms and our work battling SoCal right-wing school board takeovers.

There’s a virtual screening with a q&a on 2/5. A minimum donation of $25 will get you a link. All funds go toward finishing the film.

Has Ted Sarandos ever been to or lived in a small town? Going to movies is literally one of the only things you can do to amuse yourself.

Wait, what? You’re telling me an ICE agent who killed someone abused his kids and was a racist?!

AFAIK, there has only been one shooting that resulted in a death in Minneapolis so far this year, which came at the hands of ICE.
Trump: "You look at what's happening in Minnesota, it's so sad. And it's so sad because ICE is taking out murderers, they're taking out drug lords, they're taking out people from mental institutions, bringing them back to their country. They're taking out the roughest people. Tren de Aragua."

“This week, journalist @katelynburns.com wrote about this dynamic. “The message is clear: looking wrong to a conservative, speaking wrong to a conservative man, not bowing and scraping to conservatives, or even just loving the ‘wrong’ gender, means you are an enemy… that should be put down.”
NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.
