if the democratic party had a functional propaganda arm it could make a lot of hay of the fact that a non-trivial number of MAGA personalities and politicians are child sex offenders

The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025.

This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

NEW. Trump poll nos. on foreign policy tanking 📉

‼️ Unlike Trump, Americans personally sympathize more w Ukraine overRussia by 56-3

👀 Disapprove Trump's foreign policy by 13 pts (50% to 37 %); in Jan they approved 39% to 37%.

Ambushing Zelensky at Oval despite propaganda looks to be a disaster.
Analysis | Americans don’t love Trump’s methods on Ukraine
They increasingly support a negotiated end to the war and even territorial concessions to Russia — but not necessarily like this.

DOGE recommends cuts to the FAA.

Hundreds of workers get fired, including those tasked with producing air traffic navigation maps.

Now Starlink is reportedly in line to take over a $2 billion contract to upgrade the nation's air traffic control systems.

See how this works?

this is key. democrats tell their supporters "ughhhhhhh this makes us so mad, send us money!" but when you ask them to fight the thing they say "ugh too bad, rules n decorum say we cant, just vote harder dipshit"

and then they get mad when people dont show up to vote
Because Republicans actually do things when they're upset.

Zero Democratic votes for the Republican budget made to cut programs like Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and food stamps to pay for billionaire tax cuts. Reject being the minority, embrace being the opposition!
Jeffries: "Let me be clear -- House Democrats will not provide a single vote to this reckless Republican budget. Not one. Not one."

It's nearly 5am and Republicans just rammed through their pro-billionaire, anti-middle class budget blueprint.

In order to pass massive tax giveaways for billionaires, they're going to defund Medicaid, slash veterans benefits, & force kids to go hungry.

Make sure everyone knows it.

Bright passionate people who wanted to dedicate their lives to public service were fired in a mass email over the holiday weekend.

This has absolutely nothing to do with efficiency, fraud, waste, or abuse. And your life will be worse because of it.

Brian Gibbs had no clue Friday would be his last day at his dream job. The education technician park ranger at Effigy Mounds National Monument in Iowa reported to work, only to be terminated on despite receiving an exceptional performance evaluation in the fall.

It testifies to some epic flexibility of mind that the MAGA right can both claim to be fervently in favor of protecting women and children, especially against sexual abuse and trafficking, and also enthusiastically embrace rapists and traffickers.

If Trump and the GOP extend their 2017 tax cuts, the top 1% will make out like bandits — taking home an extra $165 per day.

But the bottom 60% will get shafted — getting only an extra $1.10 per day in exchange for massive cuts to Medicaid and SNAP.

It's reverse Robin Hood.

NOAA is reportedly on the DOGE chopping block.

The National Weather Service, which is part of NOAA, provides life saving weather forecasting in the US.

A study found that for every $1 invested in NWS, it produces $73 in value to Americans.

Again, this isn't about efficiency.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.
i mean, the president's executive order isn't a goddamn law! as far as this doctor is concerned, who cares what the president says!
A New York City doctor said he will continue providing gender-affirming treatments to his patients younger than 19 despite President Donald Trump’s executive order aiming to ban such care.

Obviously republicans are the worst bigots on trans rights but Democrats help them over and over by being fucking cowards on the issue because focus groups tell them people feel icky about it. That is not leadership, it is complicity.
It’s insane how many Dems and liberals have just regarded “trans people get the boot and are simply removed from society” as a natural, inevitable, and unpreventable consequence of Trump winning a plurality by 1.5%
"The chaos of these past few weeks shouldn’t mask that in this period, Trump has also waged as direct a campaign against a single, vulnerable minority as we’ve seen in generations."
