There will, of course, be lots of obeying in advance. But the more of us who don't, the harder it is for them to police us all.
A Biden-appointed archivist overseeing the National Archives Museum allegedly removed references to negative events in US history from displays to avoid angering Republican legislators.

"If you choose to stay in one of those evacuation areas, you are going to die," Tampa's mayor said.

But Florida’s incarcerated residents have no choice.

More than 21,000 people are locked up in counties with mandatory evacuation orders, according to our analysis. theappeal.org/hurricane-mi...

I think about this poem by Fady Joudah almost everyday.

“They did not mean to kill the children. / They meant to./
Too many kids got in the way
of precisely imprecise / one-ton bombs /dropped a thousand and one times / over the children’s nights.”

first thing walz should have said was: “my opponent will sound smooth and polished with his Yale degree and long career in the rooms of the rich, but every word that will come out of his mouth will be a lie, and it will have to be, because he is defending Donald Trump”

This ran on probably the worst day possible to gain any kind of news attention, but I asked media monitors and rights groups about journalists being killed in Gaza.

They said Israel is deliberately targeting them.

Also important to remember the Midwest's history of racial violence. Sundown Towns (all-white municipalities where "colored people" passing through had to leave by sundown) were particularly prevalent in the Midwest.

Here is a database (and viz of those towns):
